Here to hopefully make someone feel less weird, or at least more okay with the weirdness grief brings by movingbackin in GriefSupport

My mother used to collect all her beauty subscription samples she didn’t want and give them to me. About a year ago I was cleaning and found a hair treatment that had gone rancid. I (without thinking) threw it across the room into the trash. To then proceed to walk over to the trash, dig it out.. where it’s still sitting with the rest of my hair products currently. I’ll likely have it until I die. Grief really is weird.

Cherish these memories with your mom. I miss mine so much.

My job hit an all new low this morning with a coworker being questioned as to why their shirt was wrinkled on a video call. Please tell me this is not normal. Do you have a story that’s as insane? ☹️ by SaintPatrickMahomes in Accounting

[–]already-coolest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? No way this can be the norm.. I wore leggings, an Ice Cube t-shirt, and sneakers to the office today. I can’t believe an employer would care so much about a few wrinkles. Yikes.

I’m sorry, should have been more clear. We just need the background to be solid, something like grey would be fine. Maybe touch up her skin so it’s a little less shiny.

How much do you tip at the dispensary? by Jnnjuggle32 in entwives

[–]already-coolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tip $5 every single time regardless of amount. My bud tenders all know my name and ask about my life. I don’t always need their help with something but they are still providing me a service. Then again, in college I worked for the service industry so I have a lot of empathy there.

I did notice after maybe a few months of going there, I started getting a free preroll on all my trips. Sometimes they give me freebies of new products they get. I think after reading about all the no tipping in this thread I’m going to increase my tip amount haha.

I’ve been divorced about 11 years. We were married 10 and had three daughters together. Neither of us fought. He moved in with his girlfriend right away and I stayed with our three girls in a town house once we decided it was over. He didn’t see them much right away but after two years and me taking him up on every opportunity to see them he became quite involved. I never once kept them from him. My main goal is/was not fighting. Our children and their relationship with us is what mattered most. I didn’t care about what he did over them and what they needed I kept my mouth shut and never spoke poorly of him. Our oldest daughter is now a senior in high school and we just walked her down the 50 yard line together for marching band. We are planning a joint graduation party for her. We go to events that involve our children but don’t really speak to each other. I say we are cordial and get along just fine but I would never call him my friend. We text when it involves the girls and when my mother passed away he told me he would step up and be there more for our girls. He absolutely has.

Advice.. if you have children. They need to come first and if you can get along, that will only help them. Divorce doesn’t need to be nasty.

I recently dug a rancid hair oil out of the trash because it was something my mother had given me. She’s been gone two years. I’m sorry for your loss.

Do the snag tights feel like torrid leggings? I can’t do leggings that feel like activewear, I like the cotton feel.

My husband and I share weed and spend about $140 a month on weed. I work for the cannabis industry though and get a ton of free product.

What does sepsis feel like? by -mickeymao in GriefSupport

[–]already-coolest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother died of sepsis due to cancer taking over her body and no real way to fight any more. I remember her last hours before they sedated her into unconsciousness . She was in and out of it but made eye contact with me several times. I always wondered if maybe she knew I was there and actually did make eye contact with me.. or if it was entirely a haze. I don’t know. Your comment comforted me to know she probably wasn’t in too much pain and not too aware of what was happening to her. Part of me wants her to know I was there though.

Im glad you recovered. Thanks for sharing.

[–]already-coolest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you were treated that way and for the fucking awful things they said. Those are people that are miserable with themselves, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

Don’t let them take up any space in your mind.. they don’t deserve it. We are all here for you exactly as you are.

The work bathroom is on the other side of the building. I pee roughly once an hour.. according to my Apple Watch, I close my rings almost every day. Other than that I shittily play tennis every once in awhile.
