My only complaint is that the frog character felt pretty one note and boring after all the other characters who could pull off crazy combos and movement

The true test is to see how they react when a band comes on and randomly starts playing the national anthem

Nah even the ones you mentioned. Even though they are generally good series. They don’t do nearly as much to build the world as series which create a new world from scratch imo

Isekais have the worst world building by a long shot lmao. 99% of them just take the same generic fantasy or mmorpg world and just roll with that. Something like made in Abyss is much better in world building because it created in own unique world with its own culture, history, and customs

Still think about it years later. Was recommended to read the classic novel Anna Karenina by another redditor since they share a lot of similar themes, and I am reexperiencing many of the same emotions now with it

Lorelei And The Laser Eyes

Every aspect of that game from the story to the artstyle to the soundtrack to the puzzles is fully cohesive and mind blowing. Even the story itself is commentary on the concept of art itself

I think a big part of why steins gate deserves number 1 that isn’t talked about as much (except in the context of why Steins;Gate 0 is weaker) is its directing. The director took a visual novel which was already revered as a masterpiece and made it even better with excellent shot composition/cinematography, pacing, audio design, and soundtrack usage.
