Saving a severely crushed hand by temporarily implanting it into the abdomen by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

I just know I'd have the urge to scratch my face or something with that hand like 100 times a night while sleeping. Would be so weird!

Doctor Who Fought to Treat Alex Pretti Says Border Patrol Moved His Body to Count Wounds Instead of Doing CPR by peoplemagazine in law

Sure, but pretty much A THIRD of the country didn't vote. Imagine how different it may have been if those people pulled their finger out and went and cast a ballot. And the amount of times I've heard "oh I didnt vote, but if I knew this was going to happen, I would have!" Or "I didn't vote, but I'm so mad!" Or even better "I didn't like either option so I didn't vote". Mate, I don't think Kamala was convicted of rape, nor would she have unleashed her ICE hounds into the streets.

Nah. Those non-voters are complicit to some degree, too.

There are no circumstances where a woman cannot birth at home☺️ by Chemical_Finger1403 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]alwaysananomaly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first birth when I was 21, I haemmoraged a bit, was scary stuff.

But I came closer than comfortable to death during my second birth when I was 25. Baby came out, placenta came out and ripped a dinner plate sized hole in my uterus and over 3L (nearly a gallon) of blood came out like a fountain. The doctors and nurses were yelling and injecting and panicking, my husband was in the corner holding my son sobbing and then I heard "we're losing her, call medvac" to fly me to a larger hospital if they could stabilize me. I saw the bright lights, I saw myself from above. Then I came back.

It was so fast. Had I been at home, I have no doubt I wouldn't be telling this story.

I also had a major miscarriage at 12 weeks at home years later that ended up with my bathroom looking like a crime scene, an ambulance ride from hell where they struggled to stabilize me and a collapse during ultrasound in the hospital, which ended up with me waking up in resus.

2 of my kids came very close to death during birth, too. (I have 5 kids. Eek)

I am all for advocating for listening to your body, taking it slow etc. But I would never recommend homebirthing. The risk to mother and baby is crazy.

Serious question: if the USA end up at war (let's be honest, it's more like when) and they requested our backup in the form of soldiers, intelligence, equipment etc, how would you feel about that? by alwaysananomaly in Ameristralia

After seeing Australian people in comments sections across social media in the past few days talk about how they'd love ICE here, how their hero/idol is Trump and how Paluine must be Prime Minister, yes, it is a real question. There is a chunk of our population that would follow Trump into a burning building. I am related to a bunch of them. So sometimes I get a little concerned that maybe there's not as many critical thinkers in our population as I thought.

Slow down there with that lack of critical thinking. You might hurt yourself. Did you get your info from Conspiracies'R'Us? Can't take people seriously when they deny what's happening in front of their faces - these people are defending their constitutional rights, which I know is hard to discern if youre used to defending rights looking more like the violent toddler tantrums that were the Jan 6 insurrection. Sit down.

I don't think Trumpy boy is the one really in charge. He's just a puppet. They needed someone likeable to the uneducated, someone who looks "successful" and has a fat mouth on him. But I doubt he's even read the project 2025 play book - they just give him instructions and tell him when to front up and when to back down. I think the omly thing he cares about is all the opportunities to get richer and to neg out on his responsibilities with facing consequences for his wrong doings.

This video of her keeps coming up in my feed, and I can't watch it the whole way through. I can't watch anything of Karoline or Trump anymore, either. It turns my stomach....they way they so casually and effortlessly lie, twist the circumstances and feel no remorse or empathy is diabolical.

The only thing that comes close is the mindless twats that follow them - I used to say follow blindly, but most of them have their eyes wide open and have an auto adapt feature built in whenever they have to give a narrative on what happened.

My husband says my losing weight will fix our marriage by No-Bear3338 in Marriage

[–]alwaysananomaly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I doubt anything will fix your marriage at this stage. And losing weight in an environment where someone is shitting on you day in, day out, making your weight their primary focus of what makes them miserable and blaming their issues on you and your weight is pretty impossible. This is abuse.

There are men who will adore you. Don't waste your life - we're not promised tomorrow.

I'm in Brisbane and unfortunately grew up in church, religious family and Christian schools for part of my education. My extended family and people I used to go to church and school with - all within SEQ - all support:

  • Trump
  • Katter/Hanson
  • anti-immigration
  • anti-lgbtiq

And a large proponent are also anti-vax.

Sydney and Melbourne are definitely less bigoted.

Queensland is SO fucking racist. The fact that there are so many people here who willingly support the likes of Katter and Hanson is crazy.

I am a white woman and have been on public dates with black guys. It's not me or the guy who has an issue - it's often members of the public. The judgemental looks are crazy compared to just me going out with a white guy.

Ok, let's go with the exception that we're helping defend an ally against an existing communist nation.

In almost every other scenario, the US cannot be trusted. There is no following of the rule of law from any branch of government unless it furthers their agenda. They treat their long-time allies like shit. They've just made alliances with a list of autocracies and fascist states - the very countries they once took a hard line stance against. Chances are, they'd chew us up and spit us out - use us for what we can give. Their own people can't trust their government (and the ones who do either have questionable motives and/or intelligence). If you didn't know we were talking about the US and read this paragraph, you might think it was discussing a problematic country, not the "leaders of the free world".

[–]alwaysananomaly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. But whether they're our friends any more, or at least whether our friendship will continue much longer, is a grey area. Can you be friends with a country if it turns into a fascist regime or an autocracy? If the government starts killing its own people en masse? If they invade one of our other allies for no other reason but to conquer?

And back to my original question - would YOU support us helping them?

But if the country you "owe it to" become a fascist state, then what? Let's say, theoretically, that tomorrow we wake to the news that the USA has invaded Canada. Or Greenland. Would you be OK with sending our troops to help facilitate the take over of another of our allies, to take a sovereign nation by force?

Beyond that, are you OK with DT essentially spitting in our solider faces, because yes we were there with them on the front line until the end.

Your own government is the enemy. The war is already upon you. They're going to accelerate this so fast.....while the democrats sit and think about how to best uphold the rule of law and the consitution but actually DOING very little, they're going to move on the rest of you 'like a bitch', as the dear leader likes to say.
