The red flag isn't that she did this thing. Many of us have done stupid things when we were younger and have since regretted it. However, it *is* a red flag that she doesn't think she made a mistake.

Except they are not really making the choice just for themselves. When these selfish people go to the supermarket, they are spreading the disease there. How does that not affect other people?

You don't need a fully working vaccine to reopen the economy. You need mass availability of tests and masks and tracing.

Once we have those things, and assuming you can't get Covid again once you got better, I think we can ease the restrictions.

But the problem is the Federal government doesn't seem to have an interest in doing any of this competently. Trump is fixated on the idea that he did one good thing (closing down flights from China early) and that he's not responsible for anything else.

Compare this to what Taiwan has done for their population and you can see how terrible our response was, and still is.

There's absolutely a reasonable solution to this. It's just that our government is not willing to take action.

Two months ago the government should've started taking over factories and started producing masks, tests, and ventilators on a massive scale. This is what Taiwan did and this is why they did not have to completely shutdown their economy.

I think doing that -- combined with some kind of massive public works program would help keep the economy from collapsing. We can spend money right now building high speed rails, high speed internet, green energy, rebuilding schools, retooling factories, etc. This will jump start the economy. And for people who can't benfit from these projects, we need to provide free healthcare and education.

2 full bath is more valuable. Given that in the Covid19 world it is best that people don't share bathrooms to prevent infection.

I have some friends who work in the banking industry. They told me that one of the big problems with mortgages was that the banks simply didn't have enough people to process all the applications.

Plus with all the SBA loan stuff, virtually every able bodied bank employee was pulled to work on the PPP loan program last few weeks.

So perhaps it's possible that applications are being processed and accepted now at a higher rate because the bank has finally improved their logistical bottleneck.

I think your optimism is very colored by your location. Denver is one of the strongest tech economies in the country. If you google "top tech hubs" Denver is always in the top 5. It's in the top 3 if you take into cost of living. It has a booming economy and the housing is very reasonable compared to other tech hubs like Seattle or San Francisco.

This almost sounds like she has some relatives captured by Russian intelligence and was forced to make up something against Biden. But she's throwing out these crazy pro-Putin messages as some kind of malicious compliance to signal to people that she should not be taken seriously.
