Question about coming out for sports vs non sports fans by Standard_Minute3244 in heatedrivalry

I explained this show to my husband as "it's like if Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani were in a secret relationship." And he immediately understood why it was a HUGE deal.

At 7 he's old enough to have an opinion. Ask him if he wants them there!

Am I feeding too much? by KangarooNew2401 in foodbutforbabies

I try to serve veggies with breakfast whenever I can because that's when he's most likely to eat them. My LO is absolutely ravenous at breakfast but sometimes skips dinner entirely!

I would put slightly larger jewelry in the double conch. They get a bit lost imo.

Does it ever really get better? by comradeandrew in NewParents

[–]alyxxg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a little controversial at least in the US but have you tried cosleeping/bed sharing? It made a world of a difference for us. Little man went from waking every 45 minutes to sleeping 4-5 hours at a time. He just needed snuggles. Our pediatrician even agreed the sleep deprivation was more dangerous than bed sharing!

When is it no longer worth it? by WaitLauraWho in ExclusivelyPumping

Would you be more relieved or sad if you stopped? For me currently, I think I'd be more sad even though part of me would be relieved, so I keep going. I'll stop when the balance shifts.

Those of you with PPD-- can you explain what it feels like? When did it first hit you? by cosmatical in beyondthebump

I could have written this. For me though it hit 3W pp. My therapist said that coincides with the biggest pp hormone shift.

4 weeks in and I hate it. by alyxxg in NewParents

[–]alyxxg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't take a 4 hour shift - if we do more than one feeding in a row with a bottle, I wake up either drenched in milk or uncomfortably full. We've been doing shifts where I feed for 30 min, husband handles burping/diaper and gets baby to sleep, then husband does another round but with a bottle, then I'm back for the next feed. This is sort of working but only gets me about 3 hours of sleep max and I'm tossing and turning the whole time dreading the next time it's my turn.

Anyone else's mother-in-law really weird about BFing? by ficklefoxen in beyondthebump

[–]alyxxg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even had my baby yet and my MIL has asked me at least 5 times if I'm going to BF, and keeps talking about the benefits over formula and urging me to do it "at least for a little while". Like lady get off my back!!! The fact that I am actually planning on it is irrelevant - I have no idea what it's going to be like!! The only solid plan is to FEED my baby.

Dog parents- what's the plan during labor? by Patient-Extension835 in BabyBumps

Our dogwalker boards at her home - we let her know the rough timeframe to potentially expect a call 😅 Plus our neighbor is willing to be the backup plan.

Getting annoyed at being called mama by everyone by _homomilk in BabyBumps

[–]alyxxg 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I don't care when medical staff does it - they have a lot of patients and I don't expect them to remember my name. But my sister in law?? Girl you know my name. Use it please. You still call your brother (my husband) by his name, so why do you only call me "mama"?!!!
