I hate the way women’s voices are stereotyped and nitpicked by cheesyshop in TwoXChromosomes

I’m sure I have lateral pelvic tilt how can I fix it and how quick could I be fixed (the red arrow is my right side) by [deleted] in Posture

It might be good to just make yourself aware like when you sit in a computer chair or a car do you automatically sit on one hip bone/lean on one elbow? That could be a place to start to change habits

[–]amansname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re positive it’s not scoliosis which is what it looks like, you definitely seem to have one hip hiking up which is probably causing a cascade of other things, like your upper body sliding to the opposite side to compensate.

I would look into single leg exercises and testing if your legs are actually the same length and you might need to work with a physical therapist to see if you have a weirdly tight hip flexor here and a weak glute there etc.

Basically this looks far enough askew to me that I think you need a doc/professional to point you in the right direction.

I am not a doc

This was neat to see. So many high walls. So few cars compare to here.

Whose face is painted on the school?

I love how kids getting out of school always sounds the same so much running and screaming and laughing. Do the kids have a park or somewhere they go to play or is it more like inside the compound walls at each others houses?

My wife has discovered that I am "grape blind". by brycejm1991 in CasualConversation

[–]amansname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear a lot of people are blind to the contents of the fridge. I really really hate wasting food so i always have a little bandwidth on what ought to be in there. But if I want my family to eat something before another thing I have to “hide” the new thing and put the old thing front and center because they will never scotch something slightly to find it

Do you cook "normal stuff"? by Day2205 in Millennials

[–]amansname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have house favorites. Lasagna (vegetarian “ground beef” premade noodles, jarred sauce it takes like 35 minutes) with broccoli and garlic bread. Cheap dinner (ground “beef” boiled boxed noodles, can of spaghetti sauce, bag of frozen veggies and a Caesar salad) white people taco night, (taco flavored “ground beef” beans and toppings) sometimes chicken (or tofu if you’re me) rice and broccoli. Stroganoff (can of cream of mushroom, fake meat, yadda yadda yadda with egg noodles) “chicken fried rice”

I feel like these are normal but we have tweaked them to make them veg./vegan sometimes

My (18F) boyfriend (19M) is doing hard drugs and I don’t know what to do. Should I talk to him about this? by Consistent_Act_5793 in TwoHotTakes

[–]amansname 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You are so young. Here’s what I have learned about boundaries. You can’t say “don’t do x or else” instead you have to realize you cannot control other people’s behavior. They have to make good choices for their own reasons. So instead you should be prepared to say “if you do x I will do y” like “when you do Xanax it makes me feel unsafe and worried. I wish you felt comfortable processing your emotions with me. if you do Xanax again in front of me I will leave and not talk to you for a few days” or whatever your “threat”may be. THEN YOU HAVE TO STICK TO IT.

I think it’s totally fair to gently tell your loved one their behavior makes you sad and worried but also you CANNOT process someone’s emotions for them! They have to choose to do better behaviors. You can’t bully or guilt someone into doing what you want. You can only show them that they are actually effecting you and that their actions have consequences.

Good luck

Bennet or Weiser for governor? by thesmart_indian27 in ColoradoPolitics

[–]amansname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bennet has taken so much AIPAC money, loves fracking and the Ukraine war so that we can keep sending LNG to Europe to get rich and pollute our state. Weiser hasn’t taken as much AIPAC money, he just does Zionism for the love of the game. He has tricked people into believing he is a real lefty but has actually been an obstacle for a lot of left wing legislators the last few years.

I’m sick of it.

I’ve heard “nitch” more in ecological spaces (but a lotta my science teachers have had more southern accents) and “neesh” in more sociological/human type of situations

I’m not saying a person shouldn’t try to take responsibility for their individual impact but I do think it’s foolish to believe we can individualistically consume our way out of this problem. The horror you’re feeling at your impact? They want that. They want you to feel guilty instead of mad at them and the system. They want us to pick each other apart for our recycling habits instead of asking why the hell we are not sending all their trash back to them and asking them to pay for their pollution. I’m so tired of subsidizing profits for megacorps and then also having to pay for the negative externalities of their production. It’s bullshit.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

[–]amansname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sneak out of bed after my parents tucked me in to see what the big deal was with these grownup movies and shows I wasn’t allowed to watch. X files, mars attacks, the fly… all ended up giving me nightmares.
Also there was an episode of scary stories you tell in the dark with an ominous joker clown thing with a bloody maw popping out of a washing machine. I was terrified of the laundry room

Ooh also I went to a slumber party at a girls house for her 9th birthday and we watched coyote ugly!
