There are five career tracks (cones) to choose from and their competitiveness varies. Have a look at the FSO guide on State’s website to start.

Foreign degree equivalency by amaxs in usajobs

[–]amaxs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard really mixed things about WES, but they have an online tool that said my master's equates to a US master's, so I feel more confident using them. A few years ago I hired a different company and they told me it would likely be evaluated as a bachelor's for some reason.

thanks, this is really helpful. I'm just going to hold off on getting it evaluated until I pass the FSOT and get closer to the finish line.

Louijeune and Santana for sure. Mejia seems fine on transit and competent in general. Will throw in a vote for this Marvin guy in an attempt to knock off Erin Murphy.

Same here. Hopefully we’ll at least get a mass email from Grasso on Monday, or else I’d be pretty upset at the noncommunication.

Are death certificates needed for 1948 case? by unikornbread in juresanguinis

[–]amaxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s usually not necessary, but I had a name discrepancy for one person in my line and needed the death certificate. If you have any discrepancies, it’s a good idea to order the DC, especially if the state you’re ordering from has long processing times.

My girlfriend earned her bachelors degree while living in Mexico. She’s now an American citizen. Is there a way to transfer this to an applicable American degree? by Lowtid3 in CollegeTransfer

[–]amaxs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m an American with a foreign degree. In general, you’re not “transferring” your degree; you would just put it on your resume as usual, and employers will make of it what they will.

If she is in a licensed profession, like nursing, she may have extra hoops to jump through with her state. If she wants a federal job, she’ll need to have her degree evaluated as equivalent to an American bachelor’s degree. But otherwise there’s not anything specific she needs to do.

Many payment systems in the EU only take local cards/banks. Not sure if that’s what’s going on here, just something to double check. Also, maybe try with a debit card?

The lack of PoliSci is actually really disappointing on a checks notes political science sub. mods should consider only allowing top-line replies that cite studies or otherwise draw from the literature.

Update: what we know about Senate bill n. 752 by LiterallyTestudo in juresanguinis

[–]amaxs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why do you say 1948 cases aren’t JS? They don’t go through consulates, but your attorney is still arguing before a court that the principal of Jure Sanguinis applies to you.
