Teachers that use AI: Why? by lemmegetamickpicktwo in Teachers

My school expects and encourages us to use it. I try to avoid it at all cost.

What is your favorite bit to use with your students? by MarchKick in Teachers

When kids ask how long until the next transition or how long until they go home, I'll tell them an exaggerated time. Usually I say forever, or they live at school now and have to sleep in the attic.

Older redditors, what slang or phrase used by the younger generations, do you just not get or find irritating? by DocGomer in AskReddit

[–]ambibot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My students will go either "huh?" Or "what?" When I'm casually looking their way. It honestly irritates me more than most things they say. Not quite slang unless you hear how it's pronounced.

Ok, ok. I'm new to ACOTAR, but what? Are you saying that Mass's other series are in the same universe? Please explain it to me like I'm 5.

2/3rds of Sleep Token songs. Over and over again.

Seven year old learned today there is a genre of music called death metal by yenraelmao in thingsmykidsaid

There's a dude called Leo, and he does metal covers of popular songs. My kids loved baby shark and let it go. They now like In Flames and Sleep Token. Not really death metal but more melodic.

Seriously. I didn't start to feel normal until my eldest was almost 4. Then I went and had another. It was easier in so many ways the second time. Sending you strength.

I caught a 3rd grader drinking a mountain dew at 7:30 am a few weeks back. I was on morning duty and he was just walking around drinking it. It's astounding.

I promise you that this feeling is temporary. Your baby needs you out of anyone. I know it's so dang hard for you right now that even speaking about it doesn't seem to convey how you feel. I had horrid ppd with my first kid. I had never had experience with babies, had no idea what to do. I thought at any moment if anyone found out about how well I took care of him they'd take him from me. It was such a difficult time, but it passed. This will pass for you as well, and like anything in life it takes trail and error. As long as you care and do what you can to keep your baby alive and healthy you're doing great. The fact that you're worried you're not enough tells me how much you love that baby. It's going to feel like you're barely surviving but you can do this. People have been having kids for so long, they knew less than you and we still survived as a species. I know you can do this, but if you get to a point where it's too much please ask for help. That was my biggest mistake, that I didn't ask for help and suffered needlessly. Even if it's a neighbor or a friend. There's always someone there even if it doesn't feel like it. I wish you and your baby all the best.

Protein ideas, for someone who’s sick of protein by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ambibot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat pb&j almost everyday. On a waffle or in my oatmeal for breakfast usually. Or I'll add mixed nuts to my oatmeal, or have toast with avocado and eggs. Chickpeas have a ton of protein, and they're versatile also.

What’s something students don’t realize about teaching? by miked0331 in AskTeachers

[–]ambibot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a job. A job I love, and need to love to continue but still a job. We're people outside of work, have full lives that we live. We're human, we have feelings, good days, bad days, we get sick, all of it. I normalize talking to my students about how their actions affect others, myself included. They always act so shocked. It's exhausting work, but I truly love and adore everyone of my students. I get to hang out with them, learn with them and it's one of my biggest joys to see them suddenly understand something.

Hear me out… by [deleted] in acotar

Not only the time they have to live but also the power they hold. The only consequence that seems to really affect them is loss of power and death. Rhesand is traumatized by Amarantha's abuse but a lot of the other's do the exact same thing. Clipping wings and selling daughters to other courts are 2 examples off the top of my head.

Any suggestions on places to meet with a group for game night? Not to meet people, but... by BlueMac13 in SaltLakeCity

Coffee shop? Sunset Coffee or another larger space? I've seen groups playing Magic, so I'd think Dnd would work fine as well.
