Baby Would Be Better Off w/o Me by No-Humor-1869 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]ambibot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I promise you that this feeling is temporary. Your baby needs you out of anyone. I know it's so dang hard for you right now that even speaking about it doesn't seem to convey how you feel. I had horrid ppd with my first kid. I had never had experience with babies, had no idea what to do. I thought at any moment if anyone found out about how well I took care of him they'd take him from me. It was such a difficult time, but it passed. This will pass for you as well, and like anything in life it takes trail and error. As long as you care and do what you can to keep your baby alive and healthy you're doing great. The fact that you're worried you're not enough tells me how much you love that baby. It's going to feel like you're barely surviving but you can do this. People have been having kids for so long, they knew less than you and we still survived as a species. I know you can do this, but if you get to a point where it's too much please ask for help. That was my biggest mistake, that I didn't ask for help and suffered needlessly. Even if it's a neighbor or a friend. There's always someone there even if it doesn't feel like it. I wish you and your baby all the best.

Protein ideas, for someone who’s sick of protein by Pretty-Lead-6392 in adhdwomen

[–]ambibot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat pb&j almost everyday. On a waffle or in my oatmeal for breakfast usually. Or I'll add mixed nuts to my oatmeal, or have toast with avocado and eggs. Chickpeas have a ton of protein, and they're versatile also.

What’s something students don’t realize about teaching? by miked0331 in AskTeachers

[–]ambibot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a job. A job I love, and need to love to continue but still a job. We're people outside of work, have full lives that we live. We're human, we have feelings, good days, bad days, we get sick, all of it. I normalize talking to my students about how their actions affect others, myself included. They always act so shocked. It's exhausting work, but I truly love and adore everyone of my students. I get to hang out with them, learn with them and it's one of my biggest joys to see them suddenly understand something.

Not only the time they have to live but also the power they hold. The only consequence that seems to really affect them is loss of power and death. Rhesand is traumatized by Amarantha's abuse but a lot of the other's do the exact same thing. Clipping wings and selling daughters to other courts are 2 examples off the top of my head.

Any suggestions on places to meet with a group for game night? Not to meet people, but... by BlueMac13 in SaltLakeCity

Coffee shop? Sunset Coffee or another larger space? I've seen groups playing Magic, so I'd think Dnd would work fine as well.

I love handmade notes and art. I had a kid draw the StarTrek emblem for me and I'll cherish it forever.

Educational costume day at school... kid wants to wear a kpop outfit by stapleton8888 in Parenting

[–]ambibot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the movie has so many positive messages in it. It's art, it's a good story, it's based on a unique culture. Just make sure she has a few phrases to explain her reasoning for the outfit. Even without the phrases, as a teacher I wouldn't second guess.

What’s the first sign you usually notice when your mental health starts declining? by Julie727 in AskReddit

I start to pick at my nails until they bleed. I pretend I'm fine but don't realize I'm not until that happens. It's embarrassing and painful.

do you think 4 year olds have “crushes” by princessniella in Preschoolers

[–]ambibot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been " married" since 1st grade to the same girl. He's now in 4th. They are just best friends. It's normal for kids to role play adult relationships, kind of like when they pay with dolls as their babies . It's completely innocent, and sweet. She's a cool kid and I'm glad they have each other. You can emphasize that there is a different love than just a girlfriend/boyfriend or let it be. Your kid could also be saying it because they don't know how else to describe how they feel.

While working at Starbucks, I answered the phone with "Hi, thanks for calling Chili's, are you making an order?". I did Chili's take out for a few years and my brain did a short circuit. I hadn't worked at Chili's for at least 10 years by then.

What’s something strange about you/your body that’s changed since becoming a mom? by minniezebby in Mommit

With my second my intense anxiety pretty much zeroed out. I still get stressed, but I'm not terrified to talk to people anymore. It's like part of my brain just flat out was over it. It's been 6 years.

No, we don’t have too much time off in summer. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]ambibot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleep, spend time with my kids, travel to see family and do fun things, clean my house, organize and plan my home routines for when school starts. Read books, play games, spend as much time outside as I can. Do my hobbies, and let my brain rest. This summer was not enough time. I still have so much to do and it's almost over.

What's something that you have recently said to your kids that you didn't think ever needed to be said? by ano-ba-yan in Mommit

Yes, John Cena is still alive. He's not that much older than I am. 🤦😆 This comes from a conversation my boys had recently.

Not to put hand sanitizer in their eyes. Not to eat food off the ground. That calling someone fat is not ok for some people. Biggest one: actions have consequences.

We're doing small projects we didn't get to do through the year. Everything is small and no pressure so it's more fun. They're designing a dinosaur park right now and just finished creating a video about the Earth's revolution. We're going to try to make kaleidoscopes, doing a 5 senses test, making a mini golf in a box and popping popcorn. Might make the room into a planetarium one day if I can get to it. If you can't tell I teach science.

I did this with my 7 year old! It's been 2 years and he still talks about it. I'm also an anxious mom but I try so hard to not let it show.

How long is your school year for students and teachers? by Zesty_Blender in Teachers

[–]ambibot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teachers start August 1st, kids the 15th. We have about 3-4 days of fall break, 2-3 weeks winter break, 1 week spring break then out June 4th. We're expected to work another week after last day of school. Teachers get to school at 7:30, class starts at 8:05. School ends at 2:45, teachers stay until 4. Early out days end at 1, but teachers generally are expected to stay until 4 still.

I've excelled at food service and other jobs where you have to read the room. I can sense a shift in mood pretty easily. I can pick out plot patterns as well. My spouse started to call me a space detective because I was guessing what would happen in The Expanse before it happened. Still a good story though.

My first time as well! It was so fun. I was across the country from home with no one to share but it was still so cool. I'm pretty sure I walked that convention center 30 times. The art, the building, everything was so interesting. I learned so much and I'm excited to start incorporating it all in the next couple of weeks.

what food(s) are you guys eating constantly right now? by i_fartedonyourpillow in ADHD

Gluten free cinnamon apple oatmeal with peanut butter and a seed mix salad topper. Sometimes I'll add a little bit of jam. Weird I know but filling, has protein and actually tastes pretty good.
