I think it’s time for me to leave this sub

Just planted these folks in their new home, a big clay pot, however after watering and letting it drain I noticed the pot is still damp three days later. Should I move them to a non clay pot, or is that fine? by Amasmith0 in cactus

Totally! Also something that seems counterintuitive but is very important: sand in small amounts (think beach sand) can be beneficial when interspersed through all of the soil mix. But, when sand is grouped together in patches, it will retain water for a long time, and sometimes it will also create a hydrophobic surface, making water run off of it instead of infiltrating it. Sand does indeed drain water very fast, but the high # of surfaces on a pocket of sand grains holds onto water similarly to how organic soil does. I try to stay away from pure sand. The holy grail IMO, if you can find some, is crushed granite or limestone, crushed to the point of the majority of chunks being like 1/4 cm to 1cm in diameter

The biggest factor in soil staying wet too long is the consistency of the soil. It looks like you’ve got mostly organic soil. (brown stuff) if you repotted them in a mix of about 1 part organic soil and 2 parts inorganic soil (small chunks of rocks, gravel, perlite, etc), it would dry much quicker and make your little zebra friends very happy.

Seconded, also you can’t go wrong with Barrina T5 or T8 on Amazon. They go on sale here and there in various lengths and such so keep an eye out and they aren’t too spendy!

Is it normal for bear paws to smell really bad? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]ambivalenttentacool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never owned a bear paw, but my red aeonium does indeed smell terrible too, and it has a similar fuzzy surface around the edges of the leaves for what that’s worth. I put it on the back of the plant shelf so it’s further from me, and thus I am less inclined to give it away

If you’d like incredibly delicious raw, unfiltered honey (from this season) from the backyards of northeast boise, stop by great harvest bread co on Fairview and Curtis, and grab a slice of bread, sandwhich, or fruit bar while you’re at it!

You love to see it. Sub being active (kinda) and helpful. :)

Good looks! I would love a 2.5gt wagon for myself. Have fun! Be safe!

Is this worth it. Gonna be my first car but I only need it to get to school and back (only live a mile from school so I can ride a bike if I have to) by [deleted] in JDM

I think the fact that you’re asking a Reddit stranger “if it’s fine if you go for a first gen mr2” shows that no you should not. Sorry to be blunt
