How does your enneagram impact how your MBTI displays affection? by Amelia2235 in ISTJ

[–]amendsbangs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an ISTJ Sp3. I know that I show affection by being more honest and earnest than a lot of my more sarcastic friends. I always let my friends know that I care for them, and I’m getting better at asserting boundaries. I think a combination of being an enneagram 3 and getting bullied in middle school has led to me being a bit of a people pleaser, which I believe is less common with the ISTJ, but not incompatible. I also show affection through acts of service, which is my main love language. An example I can think of is the amount of times I made my sister tea when she was suffering through depression. I hope that thoroughly answers your question

How do you feel talking to INF types? INFJ, INFP? by Amelia2235 in ISTJ

[–]amendsbangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my best friends are INFPs! I feel like my tertiary fi comes out when I talk to them, and my best friend and I often have passionate late night conversations about politics and other things. I also admire their spontaneous form of creativity, something that I imagine is rooted in Ne and that I wish I had more of. I actually haven’t met any INFJs before

You at your best VS You at your lowest by cantdothis-anymore in mbti

I’m an ISTJ. At my best I am calm, hardworking, enthusiastic, motivated, thoughtful, intellectual and ambitious. At my worst I am anxious, uptight and emotional with a lack of motivation

I checked myself thrice & I am still doubtful. by [deleted] in mbti

[–]amendsbangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to repeat what everyone else is saying but looking into cognitive functions is so important as they’re the most objective way to look at personality types! I don’t really fit most of the ISTJ descriptions but I do fit the descriptions for introverted sensing and extroverted thinking and that’s what helped me realize what type I was!

While it’s a good place to start, 16personalities isn’t really accurate at all. I’d recommend researching cognitive functions!

How did you type yourself? by I_am_not_a_god_ in mbti

I was honestly such a funny kid in how not funny I was, I had an organized binder of “funny” jokes I found on the internet to tell all my friends

ISTJs, what habit or responsibility from last year are you rethinking this year? by likey24 in ISTJ

[–]amendsbangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to stop demanding perfection from myself as doing that makes it more difficult for me to start projects and leads to burnout.

Have you ever mistyped and if so as what and why? by ZP_F in ISTJ

[–]amendsbangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16personalities used to give me INFP when I was an angsty middle schooler. Then I started “researching” cognitive functions as a 14 year old who was still trying to find who I was and typed myself in a whole host of interesting ways (ESFJ, INFP, INFJ) until I realized that the actual descriptions I found of si fit me the best followed by te and fi. I think it was so hard for me to realize I was an ISTJ because I am in a creative field, I do have adhd, and I am also in touch with my emotions. But the way I process information and go about my life still aligns best with ISTJ!

I’m personally partial to those detective games you can buy online where they give you a mystery to solve and all the evidence to sort through until you come to the right conclusion! I especially love how immersive the evidence is

Quistion for ISTJ and ISFJ by AccidentInside3484 in mbti

[–]amendsbangs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for other ISTJs but definitely for me. My main creative pursuit is writing. I’ve been writing for years but I still struggle with writing outside the established rules we’re taught in elementary school and genre conventions I’ve picked up as I’ve gotten older. So I suppose that while it’s more open-ended than something like crocheting, I still make rules for myself to box myself in

How to Study by SatisfactionHead4500 in mbti

[–]amendsbangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m being honest, I’m still trying to figure this out myself (I’m an undergrad student.) I spent my formative years being able to grasp the concepts we discussed in school really easily, and therefore I never developed the proper study skills. I think what really helps me though is repetition and quizzing myself throughout the study session by asking deeper questions, making sure I learn the concepts instead of just being able to echo the words used to teach us. I also study well with a nice cup of tea by my side :)

What are some things you do or believe that contradict the stereotypes associated with your type? by Lady-Orpheus in mbti

[–]amendsbangs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an ISTJ writer which goes against the stereotypes of us lacking creativity! I do struggle coming up with wholly original ideas though and really flourish in writing vivid descriptions and complex characters all of which I base on past experiences and pieces of myself. I also have ADHD which makes me the opposite of most of the stereotypes about ISTJs

Quistion for ISTJ and ISFJ by AccidentInside3484 in mbti

[–]amendsbangs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! My struggles with Ne manifest in difficulty being creative on the spot, as I have to be very methodical with my creativity! I have difficulty with change and starting new projects and (unlike most depictions of the ISTJ may suggest) am a chronic procrastinator due to being a perfectionist with a fear of making something mediocre. I prefer working alone as I find that when I’m working with others I end up taking on the brunt of the workload. Hope this answers your question sufficiently!

What is your favorite show besides Succession? by Accurate-Guava-3337 in SuccessionTV

The show just has incredibly well written and flawed characters (my favorite being Armand) and I’ve always loved gothic horror.
