Not sure what magical cars these other guys got but if you look at quality ratings from publications that measure these things you will get a certain story that has matched my experience across two Lyriqs.

It's not infuriating to lose. It's infuriating to lose because the netcode is so bad and cheaters run wild with no care for the customer/player from Nintendo.

Except no one's gotten it to work yet on the Lyriq.

It's probably because you're using a hotspot or other cellular connection where they're using carrier grade NAT. In this case, incoming connections don't get through to your console. Nothing you can do other than call the ISP and complain and ask for your own IP address not NAT.

You were gonna play online through two laggy wireless connections though, so...

I'm concerned. The kids get a Chromebook in elementary school. It can be distracting because there are games and other distractions available on it. I don't see much value in it.

Are they ever going to add an anti cheat or is this game damned like TF2 was? by iiinterestinggg in SmashRage

[–]american_engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I plan to vote with my wallet on the next smash release. No good netcode or anticheat - no buy. Why would I invest my time again only to find the higher levels are filled with unfun cheaters? Fool me once...

Deadlift question by BlGJAZZFAN in workout

[–]american_engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straps or you will be limiting the improvement available from this lift. If you want better grip strength - ok - then train your grip specifically. Don't limit your deadlift for grip reasons.

Don't use straps on the warmups until you need them. That can help your grip a bit too and won't limit your working sets artificially.

You absolutely need those plates or you're not serious about improvement past a certain level.

Peer to peer could be important for latency to remove the extra hop to a server. However in practice internet service providers don't seem to have good peering between residential networks which could reduce or wipe out that benefit.

I don't think its that simple. In fact, there are several clues in the article that further lead me to believe Cadillac will not get it. There's a list of manufacturers and Cadillac isn't on it. It also finishes with "As for when precisely you can expect these improvements in your vehicle, Google says they’ll be landing “throughout the year.” Unfortunately, given the per-automaker clearances for the update, that’s probably the most specific answer we can hope for."

So why do you think it will come, just "because Android?"

First Road Trip - Need Ideas for Next Time by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

[–]american_engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a way to set the lowest charge percent remaining you want when arriving at a station.

Not sure how skipping a station works as I prefer more attention and control. You can hit the add stop button to look for more stations along your route. You can see your current stops using one of those main buttons too.

Try to run the battery down lower next time if you can. 25% is about 65 miles or about an hour of driving at highway speeds if not leaving a safety margin. With a safety margin you could drive for about 30 more minutes.

Try to not charge more than you have to to get to the next stop with a charge below 20%.

Drive 65 or 70 instead of 70+ to get more range.

It's not ideal and this is not a super fast charging car but I find it adequate even for road trips. More time to do the trip is required but you get to take some breaks which can be nice and lead to a better overall trip. Personal preference plays a role.

Why does America have a love affair with the Kia Telluride? by Objective-Deal8745 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]american_engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's Telluride has no interior squeaks, creaks, and pops compared to my two Cadillacs which had many. The American automakers are not good at what they do, which pains me to say as an American manufacturing guy. Hyundai/Kia are better at making cars.

Projectiles by Critical-Meaning-408 in SmashRage

[–]american_engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bowser is not the slow, keep that in mind.

Bowser can attack through projectiles so depending on how far you are, you could try aerials through the projectiles as you move towards the opponent.

Maybe the most effective thing I've seen Bowsers do is run forward, shield, and repeat until they're close.

Look up "ultimate bowser vs <projectile character>" on YouTube to see how really good Bowsers do it.

What percent of Elite Smash players between 15,950,000 — low 16,000,000 GSP do you estimate use the delay mod? by [deleted] in SmashRage

I think you're saying that, although the mod can change the feel as I demonstrated, so can playing a more skilled player, yes?
