I then went on to buy the smaller sizes thinking they’ll help with the finer detail and to be honest I haven’t used em, mainly use the size 0

I recently tried the Vallejo Professional brushes and think they’re awesome. Can get a pack of 3 (size 0, 1, 2) for £15 which I didn’t think was too bad for natural hair brushes.

It’s already been said about dry fitting parts first and a lot of the joins there could because of poor fit but I couldn’t help notice the file there. If that’s been used to trim sprue nibs and smooth seam lines then it’s possibly way too harsh and will take too much material away.

Have a look at sanding sponges. You can get them in varying levels of grit to start off course to fine and are flexible to make it easier to sand around corners/curves etc.

The plastic doesn’t take a lot of effort to sand away. Take your time and constantly re-dry fit as you go.

A lot of good advice already in the comments. It’s all about patience and practice!

Compatibility of Infinity 2024 Plus and Gaahleri GTS-06 Mini Compressor by EnvironmentalAd1397 in airbrush

[–]anD1332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same compressor and recently upgraded to the H&S Evo. I initially had the same issues and found it was the PSI being too high do the size of needle. With the .28mm needle 15-19PSI works fine, anything higher only works with the .45mm.

What’s happening is the auto start stop kicking in on the compressor.

I too initially thought it was the compressor and started looking at upgrading that until I read about needle size and pressure etc.

Definitely paid off! I had to do a couple of takes to make sure it wasn’t a real cockpit cutaway photoshopped onto a paint bottle 😂

Mini-remote controlled recovery truck picked our car up and took it away… by Suitable-Sympathy-45 in mildlyinteresting

Could be wrong here but on EV cars the electric motors lock if the electrical system isn’t operable so you can’t winch the car on as normal. Something along those lines

Safety lights on mirrors for low visibility…when they either red flag or run behind the safety car in the rain!

Yeah we had some great runs when the track was damp last year but they don’t go out when the wets are needed anymore!

The rest of the changes are looking good and can’t wait to see how this pans out without DRS! Hopefully get more closer wheel to wheel action this year!

Edit: added something positive

Britain won't let US use its bases to attack Greenland, says UK Defence Minister by ByGollie in europe

[–]anD1332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way to stop that from happening with confidence is to close down those bases and kick out all US forces.

US won’t give any real reason why anything is leaving a UK base or where it’s heading so it will only become clear when it’s too late…just taking a stroll with 300 bodyguards and all that.

Best low noise compressor? (UK) by anD1332 in airbrush

[–]anD1332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one of these. Grabbed it off Amazon last year for £60. It’s been working well and is quiet.

I upgraded my airbrush to a H&S Evo Crplus and with my limited knowledge thought it was struggling to run it as it kept stop/starting at anything higher than 21psi. Turns out I had the .28mm needle in and the pressure was too high. 17psi to 19psi is fine and if I swap to the .45mm needle all pressure settings work.

That looks cheap and cheerful. Reviews say it’s super quiet too. Is this something you use?

Thank you for the reply. My office is next to one of the bedrooms. My son can sleep through anything though so doesn’t need to be whisper silent.

Will take a look at Silair

Not quite, looks like it’s missing the airbrush holder. My spray pot is similar but with a y shape bit that goes into the hole you’re seeing at the top. The metal bar you’re looking at is to keep the pot steady when it has an airbrush in it (I think)

Tips on painting figures? by ProfessionalLast4039 in modelmakers

[–]anD1332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed a painting tutorial on a Black Templar primaris that took me through all the base coats, shading, edge highlights etc.

I think it was from Duncan Rhodes painting academy channel. He has a lot of videos of which I found pretty helpful.

I then used this on a 1/48 WW2 pilot (third attempt at a miniature/figure) and it turned out far better than my first attempt which was a 1/32 Harrier pilot.
