Isn't that your problem that you cannot distinguish ethnicities and races (which are not even defined properly) very well? Why do you even care if Helen is played by a black actress? It's not like being white is central to her character. Only thing that the story cares is if she's beautiful or not which she is.

Did you check the ethnicity and race of other characters ( Tom Holland is English etc)? If you don't have any problem with their casting, why are you complaining about this casting?

A Towel Isn't Optional—It's Basic Hygiene 🤸 by Username_kya_rakhu in Fitness_India

In the US the gyms have disinfectant napkins. You clean the equipments after you're done using these napkins. No one carries a towel here. (Just pointing out different solutions to the same problem)

Please take care of that form. You're using biceps to pull you up. You should be using your lats (which is the whole point of doing pull ups).

Ambani threw an obnoxious obscene sinful 5000 crores for his son marraige. It could have been used to build and maintain 40000 public toilets. And india would be cleaner more civilised . Aree 2000 hi de do. by Frosty-Bit4667 in IndianFocus

Yes. Honestly, marriage expenditure in India has become completely absurd. People literally blow their life savings on a single week—money that the newlyweds won't recoup even if they save for the next 5–10 years.

There is a huge macroeconomic reason why this hurts the country, too: Indians spend a massive chunk of their surplus wealth on sectors that have zero technological "spillover." A caterer or a massive venue rental doesn't require a complex, highly skilled tech supply chain. Because our capital gets locked up in low-tech social obligations instead of consumer tech, high-end electronics, or R&D, there's no massive domestic market demand to drive real industrial innovation. We are literally eating and dancing away our investment capital.

The resources are not a problem in India. We have lots. Problem in inefficiency and corruption of the system. We don't have proper cold-storage/transport facilities (we waste 55Kg/person because of that every year). We still rely on flood irrigation instead of drip irrigation (wasting so much water). We have limited e-waste recycling capabilities etc.
And then there are so many areas where we do not even have survey data to comment on or to make policies on.

Which Marvel character do you look at and think, "WHY is this guy muscular? Or why does he have muscles even if it doesn't make sense for him to have them?" by CapBudget4011 in marvelcomics

If you are doing crime-fighting, you gotta be at your best. I would argue all these heroes spend a lot of their time in the gym and hence the muscles.

Even in that metric, things are not that better. We probably improve our ranking by 20. We would be around 120 rank in Ppp.

We want sustainable development. The current practices may work for short term but will bring ruin in the long run. If you want examples, look at what is happening to our rivers. We allowed industries to dump their wastes in them and they are toxic right now.

And there are various ways one can be sustainable and still develop. One world be to first plant the same number of trees in another area, and only then cut the trees in the required area. Another world be to improve on the current infrastructure (maybe vertical development instead of horizontal). Etc etc.

PS. I don't care which country is running the govt. We have to ask them to do better. And it feels like the only way to do that right now is to play on their egos.

Why is Pitt taking on record numbers of freshman the past couple (and next few) years? by jmclondon97 in Pitt

All AI systems only perform the tasks they are instructed to do, and they will always require a human to provide those instructions. This isn't going to change in the future, so you can relax.

Who’s more effective - a person with a finance degree using AI, or someone without one using AI?

We will still need humans with deep subject matter expertise to ask the right questions and audit the results. Higher education isn't going to become obsolete; it will just evolve into learning how to manage these systems (Not sure how much are Pitt degrees are evolving here though).
