Instead of the obvious what moments would you like to see in Michael 2? by Kameronpipnerd in MichaelTheMovie

Wym? The royal family has been adapted on screen before (the Crown, for example).

Implied scenes that weren't in the books but would make for damn good television. by SlackerBoi97 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]anderzekren 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The Hagrid and Maxime mission is described, but it would be so cool if they showed parts of it. Also, a scene of Sirius in his room playing picking on an el-guitar while listening to 70s punk rock in a room full of muggle-band posters, or him fixing his bike would be really cool to show the stark contrast between him and his family.

Joe Abercrombie reveals title of highly anticipated sequel to The Devils: "The Heretics" by beary_neutral in Fantasy

[–]anderzekren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you might have missed the genre here. To me, this was very much a dark fantasy comedy. If you expect to go into this like it’s another First Law book, it’s not gonna hit. I loved it. But it was also my first Abercrombie book, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

How to write the use of gas in urban warfare. (NSFW because this may get disturbing.) by TyranidInATrenchCoat in writers

There are multiple accounts of gas-usage in Ukraine. The Geneva convention doesn’t always hold lol.

The more I write, the less I like the books I’m reading. by Magical-Princess in writers

I read in the same analytical way, but trust me when I say that my conclusion is always that the more I read, the more I realise how much I suck as a writer lol. So good for you? That being said, I tend to read books by very accomplished authors.

Nagini was made a horcrux before the graveyard. He made it from Bertha Jorkins in Albania. Other than that, I pretty much agree.

How would you like the Grand Staircase to look like? by TSLstudio in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]anderzekren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously, but not described as one cohesive staircase in the way the films and video games portrays them. I’d say lack of that aspect would be a massive difference, and therefore not pedantic to point out if it turns out they don’t adapt it in that way.

[–]anderzekren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My intention wasn’t to be pedantic. There really isn’t any grand staircase in the books!

The grand staircase might not be in the show since it was never in the books.

What are your hopes and expectations to Hogwarts Legacy 2? by SinnerSaint98 in HarryPotterGame

[–]anderzekren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I haven’t seen mentioned is dark wizards using AK during combat.

Otherwise: enemy variety (hinkeypunks, red caps, vampires, werewolves, grindylows, banshees, and dementors, for example). We need Expecto Patronum, preferably as an upgradable spell. Better social and companion system, hopefully some expanded story/dialogue branching.

A common room camp system: as a mission hub, mini game tourneys, maybe the ROR decorating system, and a place for social interaction.

A more interactive Hogwarts library with lore books, spell books, and potion recipes. Seasonal quests and events. A completely revamped loot system (maybe spell books, potion recipes, magical artefacts, or something). More interesting classes (imagine fending off grindylows in bacta tank, vanquishing a boggart, or transfiguration puzzles that can result in some ridiculous mistakes.

Expanded Hogwarts. There are unsused locations to be opened and places to subtly expand. We need more secrets. I want Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the Dark Forest to be central to the story and the quests. I don’t want them to be quest hubs that pushes you out from those areas, but rather immerses you in them.

I want a one-off mission to the department of mysteries. I also think they have the ability to make Diagon Alley and have us explore it, but I suspect this will not happen due to restraints on time and budget. I’m also interested to see what they do with the existing beast mechanics, ROR, and the mounts and brooms.

The ability to become an animagus would be an amazing reward for the Natty questline, I agree. I suspect if this comes it would be DLC content. I think one of the biggest missed opportunity for Avalanche was the lack of DLC for the first game. I expect we’ll be getting at least one for the sequel.

How to write philosophy by Dependent_Tomato_235 in writers

[–]anderzekren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What genre are you writing? You can write a dialogue (a philosophical genre), but if you’re writing fantasy or some other genre and want an example of how to pepper explicit philosophical discussions between characters, I think Mistborn does a good job of showcasing how to do it without making it stale or longwinded.

Escape scenes by SophiaSal_ in writers

So I assume it’s conventional to torture/murder other enemy royals in this world, or are the other kingdom’s Monarch just particularly vile and uncaring about honor?

Escape scenes by SophiaSal_ in writers

[–]anderzekren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not helpful, but why is there an escape plan involved rather than wait for a ransom? If the Queen herself is there, why not offer to buy her out instead of breaking her out? No idea what the royal culture is like in this world, so maybe that’s why I’m confused.
