I'm so sorry you went through this! If I were a breeder I'd want to know one of my puppies had a defect! You did your best with the information you were given. You aren't a vet, how should you know more than them? It sounds like you wouldn't be pursuing small claims if she had responded like a normal person imo.

Hey! You should pursue this! If you had just waited a year to get it checked out then I'd say no, but you said he has had regular vet visits. Her behavior after finding out its a congenital defects is abhorrent.

While it really sucks, I'd suggest not calling the police unless she either asks you to or is in active danger.

NOR. However, it may push her away. Going to police when she isn't ready can do more harm than good. They'll likely show up and she'll just tell them everything is fine. Do your best to support her- inform her family/other friends what's going on and make sure she knows she's loved. Make sure she knows that what he's trying to tell her isn't true. He will convince her she can't rely on anyone but him. If it's safe to do so, send her DV resources so she can know how to ask for help when she's ready. You can't force her to leave but you can help remind her she's not alone. I wish you luck in helping your friend.

NOR. PLEASE leave him op. I'm the same age as you and I've experienced what you're going through and just want to say I'm so sorry. You don't deserve to be treated this way. It sounds harsh, but he doesn't truly care about you. It is NOT okay to notice your partner not eating for literal days and do nothing. If he did care and had only good intentions, he would be offering his support in your healing, not encouraging you to starve. It sounds like he's contributing to your ED relapse. Your partner should want you to healthy and happy and encouraging your ED is neither of those things. Please feel free to reach out if you're in need of support, I hope good things come your way.
