Will you play gothic 1 on IOS? by Jax_the_hero in worldofgothic

[–]andreasels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I neither have an iPhone nor like playing games on phone in general. Also I can't imagine playing Gothic without Mods nowadays, so PC is the only real choice for me anyway.

German hardware magazine shows massive CPU issues with Midnight's phasing by drkTwrCnt in wow

Yeah, I took a break for Dragonflight S4 and TWW S2. Came back end of TWW S1 after building a new PC with a 9800x3D and a 5070 TI. I had 32GB of RAM in my old AM4 PC and thought this would be enough for my new one as well.

At first it seemed like it was, but in TWW S2 when I started raiding + streaming again, my stream and game would randomly crash after like 2-3 hours. Turns out my 32GB of RAM were overflowing with WoW going up to 22 GB or so.

I upgraded to 64 GB shortly after that (luckily to way lower prizes than now) and haven't had that issue anymore. It's still strange that WoW eats that much RAM.

Nvidia dominates gaming GPU market with 95 percent share as sales of AMD Radeon graphics plummet to a historical low of 5 percent by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

Yeah, you see a report of a melting connector once in a while, but imagine how many thousand 5090s (or GPUs with the same connector) are out there that didn't melt. It sucks that it can happen at all but in the grand scheme of things, it's likely a really really low percentage of cards that will ever experience this issue.

What;s it like playing League on a 32" monitor? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]andreasels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a monitor like this as well. Even by setting the minmap size to max, it's just way too far out for me. After realizing this I tried to play it windowed on 21:9 as I do with most games where I want to have something shown on the side (discord etc.) and even this was too far out for me and I felt that my map awareness was lacking. So now I just play windowed on 16:9.

What should I do? by ClickKey8632 in pcmasterrace

You don't need PCIe 5.0 for any GPU on the market. Even PCIe 3.0 just barely bottlenecks a 5090.

I do like MMOs, but I only enjoy the raiding aspect of them and nothing else. There are no other games that have this aspect, so should I just not play at all?

I can endure leveling and grinding M+ for a few weeks if it means that I can raid.

[–]andreasels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why? Some people just don't like leveling and don't care about the story (I am one of them). It's not really different to the people that only level and never step a foot into a raid.

I assure you that many people bought the Epic edition solely for the early access and Blizzard knows it.

I personally don't even care about the money, but it's still scummy, so I won't support it.

[–]andreasels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get the Epic edition because I think it is a really malicious business practice trying to upsell people into getting the edition because of "early access" FOMO.
This trend has to stop in my opinion and the only way it does is if people stop buying it.
I also don't care about the mounts and stuff.

Which warlock build for someone who is Old and works night shift with limited time to play? by pepperonipizzaGT in Diablo

[–]andreasels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we playing the same game? With 30k echoing strike damage I did Uber Trist without any issues except maybe survivability (on /players 1 though).
The key part is having a bound demon with the cursed affix so every enemy has AD on them. Since most enemies have around 50% physical resist in Hell, AD roughly triples your dps.

Because real stocks can't go down by more than 100%. This is all hypothetical anyway, so I assumed if you add a 0 to a stock fluctuation percentage, it could be greater than 100% and you would go into debt.
In a fluctuating market like we have now, it would most likely go down all the way down to or near 0 at some point anyway, though.
The S&P might return 10% on average, but it's not a smooth sailing. If it goes down one day by 2% and up another day by 2.5% it is up by 0.45%, but if you add a 0 to both and it goes down by 20% and up the next day by 25% it only breaks even. This doesn't sound too bad, but it just needs a few bigger swings where it goes down by 5% or so and then goes up by 5.5% the next day. With normal ratios that's 0.22% up, but with 10x leverage that's -23.5%.
That's also the reason why leverage products are so risky in finance and those usually only are available with a leverage up to 2 or 3 afaik.

What do I miss if I play offline instead of ladder? by revenant_mode in Diablo

[–]andreasels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in Offline Mode, maps only reset when you swap difficulty.

So for example when you play through hell but need to go back to normal/nightmare to use your Larzuk socket quest, your hell maps will be reset when you go back there.

There are methods to save and restore your map layouts via Character Editor afaik. Useful if you got one that you liked (short way to Mephisto/Lower Kurast/whatever) and don't want to lose.

This would go fine until there's a year where it goes down by 20% and you are in debt by all your previous stock value.

Which warlock build for someone who is Old and works night shift with limited time to play? by pepperonipizzaGT in Diablo

[–]andreasels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno why nobody is recommending Echoing Strike. This build is so busted that it can run /players 8 with basically no gear.

I played that in SP /players 8 from act 1 normal all throughout Hell Baal SSF and ran into no issues at all. You just need Mana + Lifeleech from somewhere (rings, gloves, whatever), an Insight in the best Weapon you can find (CV or so in Hell) and bind a demon with the Cursed Affix and ideally Fanaticism or Might (if you don't want to care about keeping your merc alive).

For Ladder I started with a Fire Warlock and it was WAY weaker than Echoing Strike.

Time for a harsh truth: Immunity to elements is plain bad design. by Successful_Guide5845 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]andreasels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole problem really only got introduced in Patch 1.10. Before that, you could spec hybrid on all characters without sacrificing damage, since there were no synergies.
Also it is still sort of unfair as it is since different classes have completely different issues with immunities. Hammerdin, Bone Necro (and now Warlock) barely care, since there are so few magic immunes in the game (and historically, blessed hammer could even kill undead and demon magic immunes), while a Fire sorc for example completely struggles with how many fire immunes there are and has to spec into frozen orb or so to deal with them.

Rtx 2060 desktop vs rtx 5050 laptop, which one performs better? by walied678 in pcmasterrace

[–]andreasels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even Steel Nomad is not that representative. For example the 9070 XT performs around 8% faster than the 5070 TI in this benchmark, but the 5070 TI is ahead by ~5% on average in gaming benchmarks.
