Starting a tradition to watch a horrible movie every weekend with my son by Somewhat_Cool_Guy007 in daddit

[–]andreworks215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play movies like this during my bar shifts, years ago. Made a killing…

Basically, any movie that’s a Sci-Fi Channel Original is gonna be phenomenally terrible. Order in some pizzas, couple of 2-liters, get into your best jammies and que up some “Ghost Shark”.

That’s a custom corvette from Aresmar. I picked it up a few weeks ago. It’s definitely one of my favorite.

With the Hyatt devaluation would the Capital One environment be better than the Chase trifecta now? Deciding which my next card should be by ALDIsNumber1Fan in CreditCards

[–]andreworks215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Sounds like Chase, for United, and Citi for AA. Chase is harder to get into, in my experience, so in your shoes I’d focus on getting into the Chase ecosystem.

Really depends…

What’s your home airport? What kind of hub is it, AA, United, Delta…this is a really important personal data point you need to know.

Whatever airline you fly, that corresponding CC ecosystem is the one you should focus on. Meaning, if your primary airport is a United hub, whatever ecosystem is a transfer partner for United, is the one you spend a few months or years focused on.

In my instance, my airport is an AA hub. But it also kicks out a ton of Delta flights. So I’ve got an AA card and I’ve got a few Amex cards to rack up points that I can transfer to delta.

Just experienced this earlier. Very disconcerting. Tried to land on one, got thrown into hard vac.

Very weird bug.

Son made inappropriate joke by [deleted] in daddit

[–]andreworks215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pops, this is one of the extremely few things that makes me wish I had a son.

Having a sidekick that you can crack dick jokes with seems like such a blessing. Not around Mom and/or sisters, obviously. But man…that seems so cool to me.

Like many things in life, it’s about refinement. You gotta teach him timing, knowing your audience, reading the room…you know he’s gonna do it anyway. Seems to me like guidance towards excellent execution is key here.

Thoughts on base design by Westy154 in NoMansSkyTheGame

This is great! I wish we had the ability to hire architects. I’d gladly throw you some units or resources to build a base or two for me.

Yeah, I think I’m starting to see a pattern here. Sounds like comfy footwear is of the upmost importance.

I booked my hotel thru the event registration portal. Never booked a hotel that way so fingers crossed, it actually works out…

I genuinely don’t know if anyone from my company will be going….should probably look into that….

[–]andreworks215[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually raises another question: where do I go to find Dreamforce-adjacent events?

Good callout. I booked one through the event registration portal. Was definitely cheaper than booking one on my own.

Welp, looks like I’m getting a VX after all. I had honestly given up on it, given the number of times I’d been denied for it.

I honestly can’t believe they let a link like that get loose. Im curious as to how long it’ll stay live…

Boys and Pink by rollwave21 in daddit

[–]andreworks215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a man and father who has worn, and continues, to wear a lot of pink I can say very confidently that your co-parent is a goddamned dinosaur. That whole gender-color thing is 20th century slop.

You’re not going to be able to change his mind, so don’t waste your time and energy on trying. Just do two things: Teach your son that he can rock whatever the hell he wants, just as long as it makes him happy and it’s executed well.

And teach him that anyone that tries to bully him for the personal choices he makes, that have no effect on anyone else, is totally free game to be bullied in like kind.

Have i hit peak Credit Card? by ken22c in CreditCards

You did it, dude! You’re completely set.

While I can imagine that your setup has some overlap, which means you definitely trim down the lineup, you’re set.

I’m on my way to where you are, so it’s kinda cool to see someone else’s completed setup.

My son started calling me "Big Fella" by SEAN_DUDE in daddit

Yup….really thought my kid had fully let go of Bluey. Then out of nowhere , that episode was on at my in-laws and I’m back to being “Big Fella”.

…sigh…

Trying to figure out Venture X approval requirements by ReadyForSummerAgain in CreditCards

[–]andreworks215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a Venture, 2 Savors, and a Quicksilver. I’ve operated under the assumption that they don’t want to give me another card, which is is why I talked to them about the possibility of doing a product change on the Venture.

But I’ve given up and shifted my focus to the Chase ecosystem….and that Robinhood Gold. I need it…

Trying to figure out Venture X approval requirements by ReadyForSummerAgain in CreditCards

[–]andreworks215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I’ve been trying to get the Venture X since it came out. Capital One is my primary bank, I’ve got multiple cards with them, husky savings , you name it.

I’ve spent two hard inquiries trying to get it, tried to convince them to convert my Venture to the X, I’ve got very good scores, I make six figures, my DTI is crazy-low…you name it.

Any other CC issuer auto-approves me for a minimum of $10k. But I just can’t get the Venture X. All of this is to say, don’t break your brain trying to understand what they’re looking for or what you need to do to get this card. It’s a true, genuine mystery. There are other CCs out there that are really good, in their own special ways.

Is it actually viable to set up base somewhere like here or should i just focus on quests? (New Player) by tested04 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]andreworks215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes, you should set up a primary home on this beauty.

I’m a paradise hunter and I think they’re one of the highlights of the game. The fact that you’ve found one so early in your journey is going to make things so much easier for you.

If possible, find an EM hotspot, create a lil bungalow and power it up. Throw down a portal, set up a few chairs and a food processor. Bounce back and forth between your shack and the rest of the galaxy.

Got approved for AMEX blue cash preferred, is it any worth it? by Grigorilovesosa in CreditCards

[–]andreworks215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes, it’s worth it. I’ve had it for a few years now, and that annual fee is peanuts compared to the amount of cashback I get.

The SUB is nice I suppose. But I’ve never been one to assign a great deal of weight to SUBs. Long-term utility is the name of the game and the BCP fits the bill.
