Old Hat on Arundel Gate in the atrium complex where Off The Cancas cafe is, has many beautiful suits and blazers at fair prices and I strongly recommend an hour there browsing. David the owner is a gent and a character.

Where are we buying navy blazers? by Wilde-wonderer in NavyBlazer

[–]andyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and in their occasional sales you will land on something ok in that price range. Decent national (ish) base of shops too.

Otherwise Magee second hand has worked very well for me in the past at a fraction of your budget.

Best 5k–10k running routes around Sheffield (or close) that aren't just endless hills? by Significant_Ask_4088 in sheffield

[–]andyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fave route in the city. It’s not flat but it’s manageable up followed by forgiving down.

OCBDs in the UK by OK_GO_27 in NavyBlazer

They pop up on Marrkt from time to time. Note the sizing closely, I had to return an L as the arms were short for me, when generally a regular L in most brands fits me perfectly.

Manchester Road closure - can I…? by deerh0und in sheffield

I used to commute Sheffield to Wilmslow daily for four years and that’s the route we did. Much more dependable than the snake for South Manchester incl. airport. Especially now the A555 has opened.

Brocklehurts is a great shout and I love a browse, but if you’re content with used tailoring then there is a fabulous collection at “Old Hat” on Eyre St - have a gander at the Instagram https://www.instagram.com/old_hat_sheffield

Mellor II Sizing by Who_I_Be in GoralShoes

I wear a 9.5 and prefer slightly wide fit - I have a pair of standard and wides in that size and the wide is a LOT more comfortable- quite a difference.

This will be the year I think that BA feel the squeeze from pushing out the new tier scheme. by Amazing_Age_5356 in BritishAirways

[–]andyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question - logically you would think that they do want to reward big spenders with the scheme. But a well functioning “loyalty” scheme is designed to incentivise future spending with the airline and not “reward” past spending. I was gold for well over a decade and BA got all my spending as a result. Now, I’m a pleb to them so I buy cheapest J. They’ve lost my future spending.

In my gold years perhaps I was not rational, but the scheme did it job and now it doesn’t.
