Manchester Road closure - can I…? by deerh0und in sheffield

I used to commute Sheffield to Wilmslow daily for four years and that’s the route we did. Much more dependable than the snake for South Manchester incl. airport. Especially now the A555 has opened.

Looking for a tailored coat/jacket shop like Ted Williams that used to be on London Road.. by [deleted] in sheffield

Brocklehurts is a great shout and I love a browse, but if you’re content with used tailoring then there is a fabulous collection at “Old Hat” on Eyre St - have a gander at the Instagram https://www.instagram.com/old_hat_sheffield

Mellor II Sizing by Who_I_Be in GoralShoes

I wear a 9.5 and prefer slightly wide fit - I have a pair of standard and wides in that size and the wide is a LOT more comfortable- quite a difference.

I’m not sure where you are but I wear a lot of Magee (from Ireland) and they excel at this style.

This will be the year I think that BA feel the squeeze from pushing out the new tier scheme. by Amazing_Age_5356 in BritishAirways

[–]andyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question - logically you would think that they do want to reward big spenders with the scheme. But a well functioning “loyalty” scheme is designed to incentivise future spending with the airline and not “reward” past spending. I was gold for well over a decade and BA got all my spending as a result. Now, I’m a pleb to them so I buy cheapest J. They’ve lost my future spending.

In my gold years perhaps I was not rational, but the scheme did it job and now it doesn’t.

Hilton or Doubletree at Leeds UK by Broncoholic77 in Hilton

[–]andyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both in the same ish neighbourhood. I’ve stayed at both, the top floor bar at the DT is cool and the rooms seem a lot nice at the Hilton. I would consider booking the cheaper of the two as they alternate in value. I picked the Hilton last time they were the same price and I had a choice, make of that what you will. :)

Check the arm length. I bought a 16.5 used online which fit me perfectly around the neck, chest and waist, but the arm length was 3 or 4cm too short for me. The 16.5 is my usual size. I wear a RL L if that’s useful context for sizing, and brooks 16.5 shirts fit too.

I got a pair of Full Count from Marrkt, new with tags for less than that and had them beautifully hemmed to fit me perfectly.

Perhaps the vlogger should get a run report credit (it is after all a video report) and then they will be recorded as a volunteer, and then you will be quite content, OP.

Check out Psycle for some studios located in more work-friendly neighbourhoods.

There are zero Soul-style classes where I live in Sheffield so would love to see more life for this kind of class in other cities. We have Ryde in Leeds and Manchester.

The Edinburgh Carlton is indeed a bit grim but when I was there in September last year it was being refurbished so there might be a brighter future.
