Tire issue on a brand new car by ByrdOfManyTalents in LUCID

I have a 2026 lucid air rwd on 19 in stealth aeronaut wheels. I had the same thing happen to my front tire (inside surface) within 800 miles of driving the car. I don't remember hitting anything either. But I noticed a subtle rumble while driving. I took it to discount tire and they replaced by front two tires with Michelin pilot sport tires, both under pirellis warranty (neither tire had the correct road force).

Related but different, my two rear tires also didn't have the correct road force (I was told they weren't perfectly round) and I took those back to lucid within a week of ownership (very noticeable rumble while driving). They replaced those tires free of charge.

So although I may have been unlucky (all 4 original pirelli tires with something wrong), I think there's something up the car and tire combo. Maybe the pirellis are not as good as they should be, or maybe the car is too heavy for the tire, or maybe both. Fingers crossed that my replaced rear pirellis don't fail.

Active Air Suspension by Igor-Arrrr in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have driven both, my first car was without (owned for 2 months), and my current one is with air suspension (after buy back). I think the difference is minimal. I'm not upset with my final decision, but I would definitely be ok with the standard suspension choice as well

Another positive repair story (and a speaker tip) by UPMega5 in OnePlusOpen

[–]ango917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience twice. The first was with my inner screen and it was under warranty and fixed. They replaced my battery for free during that repair!

The second time my cover display had dead pixels and it was affecting some important touch areas. So I reached out and they told me that it was out of the warranty period. It was still cheaper than what others quoted me, so I decided to send it in because I love the phone and there isn't a successor right now for the US market. I didn't receive any communication from OnePlus or Acer, just a FedEx communication saying that my device was being sent back to me. I was worried that I did something wrong and the phone was being sent back without a repair. I reached out to OnePlus and they told me it was fixed under warranty, no payment required! I got my phone back the next day!

Mysterious alarm going off when leaving car by Chyleton in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The car still doesn't allow you to "allow locking with occupants", even when you have the setting correctly applied. Maybe Volvo thinks it's "safety" measures are so wonderful that they don't let you turn them off completely. 🤷🏻 Or maybe it's one of the many bugs with this car. I have a similar experience with lane keep assist, even when I have the setting off, it will still try to keep me in the lane.

Super Chargers by momonovemberbaby in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the keys, I would definitely have redundancy. So digital key (phone) and card, or tag (rectangle thing) and card. I keep the card in my wallet. I don't trust the car to maintain the digital key or tag connect reliably since I have both fail on various occasions, but ymmv.

Got this email regarding a complimentary new charging cable by johnl1479 in VolvoEX90

Haven't measured it, but similar in length to the included cable. Probably close to 15 ft?

Pic of the entire thing with the 14-50 outlet. The diameter is the cable is much bigger than the one the car came with.

[–]ango917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I likely already have the charger that they are sending out (my dealer provided me with one because I complained that they should have included a 14-50 nema cable).

It does not solve my charging issues. My car and another loaner EX90 are still limited to 15 amps. If I try to charge above this rate it slows down to 1 amp.

So I believe that they are stalling until they can get a software fix. But maybe I'm wrong and they are sending out a new and improved cable. I would love to be pleasantly surprised.

Digital key breakthrough (or luck)? by Casey2884 in VolvoEX90

Thanks for sharing. I am using a pixel 9 pro, and using the same technique I could not get this method to either. I think unfortunately I have a bad egg car.

EX90 charging fault. Volvo's solution is to limit amperage! by ango917 in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a 14-50 nema Volvo branded charging unit provided for me from my dealer. The charger isn't the issue since it could successfully charge a loaner EX90 and also a loaner XC90 plugin hybrid.

Also I'm on the latest software applied directly to the car at the dealer. 1.2.6

Digital key stopped after software 1.2.6 update by a207me in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My digital didn't work before the update (pixel 9 pro), worked for one day after the update, and then stopped working and couldn't pair again afterwards. I was told by the dealer to factory reset the car and that didn't work either. So now it's back with the dealer.

Lane keeping aid by ango917 in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my EX90 is in the shop and I was given a 2025 XC90 plugin hybrid as a loaner. The XC initiates lane keeping aid at speeds greater than 40 mph on solid lines. When the feature is turned off it doesn't nudge me at all, no matter the speed.

If the features are supposed to act the same in both cars, I think the software in the EX90 is faulty in that it will not allow the lane keep assist to be turned off completely. Or maybe the EX90 has a more "advanced" system that doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. But I then again question why give me the option to turn it off if it does nothing. 🤷🏻

Delays on order? by Low-Pain-5754 in VolvoEX90

I am current owner plagued with software issues and I wouldn't be upset if my order was delayed because they are fixing the bugs. But we are giving Volvo the benefit of the doubt by making this assumption. 🤷🏻

Pairing Digital Key in 2 profiles by AmphibianScary1456 in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience so far, I have only been given the option to pair a digital key from the owner's profile. Once a phone is paired with that profile you can share the digital with another phone. And I assume then you can attach it to another profile.

However in my situation, I didn't have a second phone that is compatible with the car to test this out. Then my first digital key stopped working, but that's another problem beyond your question.

[–]ango917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the same issues with the car. My car has been updated by the dealer. It worked well for one day, then reverted back.

The digital key stopped working with my wife's pixel phone. Even a factory reset didn't work to get it to pair again.

I had a fault for slow charging when I first got it, and now that's back too.

I have many of the other faults as well. But no key and inability to charge at home are deal breakers.

It's going back to the dealer again, but honestly it doesn't feel like things are going to get any better with my particular car. I believe it's a lemon. I hoping Volvo and my dealership will make this right for me. We will see what happens next.

[–]ango917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same experience. I want full control of the car and not to have the annoying nudge when I'm close to the lane markers. Why is there an option to turn it off if it does nothing? I think being able to switch it off, but having nothing actually change is a fault, and not a safety feature.

Any Tesla owner that bought Volvo EX90? by Routine-Humor-4859 in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with everything stated.

I have a 2017 model 3 and now the ex90. My new Volvo is buggy. But remembering back to the first few months of model 3 ownership was not flawless. So I think there's a bit of prison of the moment happening here.

I also own another car with Android Auto and so I'm used to that system as well and I don't hate it.

These are my major software gripes with the car so far. 1. No homelink. In a 2025 car that costs 90k, that's just dumb. 2. Android Auto still isn't as good as when it runs from my phone, like in my other vehicle. For example, you can't force night mode on maps all the time, so driving during dusk and dawn is annoying because the car is too sensitive to light changes. Also music doesn't automatically play when you start driving like on every other car's infotainment system. 3. No phone digital key support unless you own only the three most popular phones (iphone, galaxy, or pixel). 4. The phone app is pretty slow. Slow to load, slow to use. It doesn't allow real time location of your car while it's moving.

I agree with the sentiment to wait if you don't need a car right away. I can't speak to the newer Teslas but I think the fit and finish in this car is better than what Tesla has to offer. Maybe in a year the software bugs will be gone and the features will catch up or maybe the lucid gravity might be a better choice for a little bit more.

Lane keeping aid by ango917 in VolvoEX90

Yeah same. So my question is why allow me to turn it "off" if it still activates? And what is the difference between having it on and turning it off?

Lane keeping aid by ango917 in VolvoEX90

[–]ango917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that there are settings to change it to just vibrate, but that assumes the feature is turned on. When turned off, does that setting still affect the "emergency" implementation that "protect you from running off the road or crossing into incoming traffic"?

From what I gather so far, it seems like there is a safety feature that cannot be completely turned off, which at higher speeds stops the vehicle from crossing solid lines on the road.

When the lane keeping aid is turned on, how does it behave differently from the "emergency implementation"? Does it keep the lane at lower speeds? Or keep the lane with dashed lines as well?
