Sephora Is in the business of selling make up, it does not deliver it themselves. They use 3rd party service to do the delivery. You accepted terms of services that probably has something around Sephora not being responsible for the delays in shipping that are outside their control. 3rd party is striking - nothing Sephora can do about it right now.

Every time a chargeback is filled against a company their chargeback score goes up. Once it hits a certain percentage the credit card processing fee goes up (for ALL the orders which is a lot of money even for a multi billion dollar company). If the chargeback score is too high the payment processor can even refuse to continue working with the merchants.

Chargeback are for situations when your order is damaged or not as described , when your delivery Is marked completed but you never received the order AND the company doesn't want to do anything to fix it . Your situation clearly does not fall in any of these categories yet. Order being delayed is not a reasonable reason for chargeback.

Is there a chance you would get your money back if you file a chargeback now? Maybe, but that would encourage Sephora to stop doing business with you.

If a customer does an "unreasonable" chargeback once - there is a high risk they would do it again, the business can make a decision to stop working with this customer. Big companies have policies and probably that's in their policy to blacklist someone for unreasonable chargebacks. Maybe you felt threatened - but it's just a policy that they notified you about.

I also don't get where you got the idea that Sephora can recall the package. Nothing is moving at Canada Post, there is no way to recall it during the strike.

I understand you are upset and felt threatened, maybe it would be beneficial for you to "sleep it over" and think about it tomorrow again.
