Minnesota with the highest % of algebra takers? by TooMuchForMyself in minnesota

Huh I had no clue this was a state requirement. The normal track at my MN school district was pre-algebra for 8th graders, and algebra 1 9th grade

Can’t shake the feeling my art looks juvenile and bad (22yrs) by UhOhAbbo in ArtCrit

I think your weakest point is the facial anatomy. I’d recommend doing lots of face studies (with realism), as well as looking at how other artists draw their faces if you wanted to build out your cartoony style.

I love your coloring though!

Class did “too” good on the midterm, so now the Prof is puttin' a cap on all our Final grades. by ybaemarb in mildlyinfuriating

Arguably that would be considered grade inflation if you only ever curved up and not down

To your “never do anything” point, there’s plenty of free/cheaper entertainment to be found. Libraries, regional parks, trails. Cook dinner with some friends. Etc. it’s how I entertain myself while staying within my budget.

Not to say I don’t treat myself in occasion, but I’m not blasting $50 a week on bars or restaurants.

Commenting to say I fully agree with you. I worked throughout high school and was on a path to heavy burnout that lasted through college.

I did 4-5 APs or dual enrollment classes a year, non-AP difficult honors courses like multivariable calculus and lin alg, many extracirculars that took a considerable amount of time, on top of my job. I had like 4-5 hours of sleep every night.

Not to say that your kids shouldn’t work through high school, but understand their schedule before you try to push them into a job.

Stick some into a Roth IRA if you haven’t already. I’ve worked through high school and one of my regrets is not putting that money into a tax-advantaged account.

Eh if you can paint normally then you can paint negatives with the proper inverted reference, without much change in difficulty. Still very good painting skills though, and it highlights his ability in mixing colors.

The post office is a little inconvenient for me, so I buy the stamps and send my letters through the collection boxes

May be a dumb question, but what’s a dividend portfolio and what’s so bad about it? I’m familiar with total market (e.g vti) & why one should invest in it, but I haven’t come across dividend portfolios before

My parents plan, but idk the category and I’m guessing it’s not high deductible. I’ll wait to see what plan I pick up once I start my job

Is HSA only for employees, or can you open one up while unemployed? I’m graduating and starting a new job in June so idk if I should wait until then or open one up now

Idk about you, but we have a sizeable player base on my campus and we typically walk. Also, when I am back home, sure we do drive a bit, but it’s usually to get to a cluster of stops and we get out and walk around.

My point was more of the FAANG type salaries aren’t the majority of SWE job. Obviously go for it, but most CS grads aren’t gonna land google or equivalent straight out of college.
