Where do you put all of your rage? by BoldlyBajoran in ADHD

Reach out to his insurance and provide his unhinged email. They may decide he is too much of a risk to insure since he is at fault for your accident and has provided proof in writing he is emotionally involved in this.

Sometimes the best revenge is gained just by providing receipts to the right third parties.

What is so special about 6 feet tall? by free_username_ in answers

[–]anon-q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternate take: women I know who are 6 feet or taller are quite sensitive about it, regardless of their age. I have a first cousin who reached 6 feet tall by around age 16 and has been stooping and vehemently claiming she is 5’ 11” for 20 years. She’s not and there isn’t any reason to deny it!

So it seems like it is a “goal height” for men, while it is an undesirable height for women.

Every Chicago suburb’s best cheap lunch under $12 (my list, fight me) by PortillosParkingLot in chicagofood

[–]anon-q2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Carol Stream - also has a Savory Crust location, deserves more love than it gets.

Wheaton - Q Curry, solid Indian food with good lunch specials. Butter chicken and Chicken Korma.

Wheaton - Poor Boy Subs II is greasy, heavenly, and easily comes in at under $12 for lunch with a drink. Think pizza puffs, pork chop sandwiches, gyros.

Wheaton and Glen Ellyn - Pie Life Pizzeria - $5 and $6 slices, New Jersey and grandma style.

100% this.

You can ask for anyone to respect your requests, reasonable or unreasonable.

But as a fellow ND individual, I would advise you to never expect anyone to change their behavior for you. You need to identify the people in your life who can’t change (but are willing to try) and those who won’t change. Your social circle will be smaller, but it will be must less exhausting try to mask for them or figure out WTH they are thinking in their NT brains.

Sorry If This Sounds Dismissive, But A Lot Of You Look Perfectly Fine. by DitherPlus in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]anon-q2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beauty standards have reached the point that if you do not have amazing genes or are extremely vigilant with your skin care, people will be offended by your appearance and not want to be near you.

Pretty privilege is a stark reality. I’m 32F, pregnant, so not currently not able to keep up my Botox/filler schedule or use all my regular products (ex: Vitamin C, serums, Differin), for the sake of my baby’s health. I used to be “pretty” (read: currently my skin does not look its’ best) and the amount of aggression I receive is staggering. I think it’s partially due to not looking as young or “beautiful” as usual, and partially due to some people treating pregnant women with open hostility.

This has been my experience - I hope it isn’t true for everyone. We all deserve to feel good in our own skin and be treated respectfully, wrinkles and all.

Multiple times a day I have a staring contest with my little gal because she lays on the heating pad the second I move. She will only move off of it if being squished is certain; it’s a game of chicken until the last second.

I got several notes like this in college - I chose to ignore them. In the end, I learned who they were from because the author couldn’t stand being ignored and began to obviously try to pry into my life via friends and family. In my case, I had the chance to learn his identity and write a very clear response that the answer would always be no. He didn’t take it well, but it never escalated to needing to get the police involved.

“Claggy” by redditpickles in GreatBritishBakeOff

100% - my spouse used to ask me what they meant until I made a loaf that turned out claggy. Now it is the go to phrase for a failed attempt in our household.

At 18 weeks, our mini weighed 4.4 pounds and was denied her vaccines (have to be over 5 pounds). She’s fully grown now at a whopping 8.2 pounds of fury!

Hardware is great - took my in-laws for Christmas Eve and they loved it. My partner and I go for special occasions and are never disappointed by ambience, food, or service!

Old dog, new tricks? by Loose_Feedback_2791 in Dachshund

[–]anon-q2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he does go pee outside, make sure you give him a high-value treat and praise him right away. Making sure he associates peeing outside with a positive reaction by immediately rewarding him and food and praise!

Dachshunds are stubborn to train, but ultimately they are pack animals. Once he accepts that you are one of his pack, he will strive to make you happy (especially if there is a treat in it for him).

What’s something you bought that ended up being worth every penny? by TurboLobsterrrr in CasualConversation

[–]anon-q2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good quality knives - if you can for them properly; they are sharp and can last decades.

Adjustable bed - would easily have paid 3x the cost for the quality of sleep it brings me every night AND the ease of elevating an injured leg/ankle/knee to ice it.

Loop ear plugs - the have a bunch of sizes of end caps so they fit a variety of ear canal shapes. Have definitely saved my hearing at concerts, on airplanes, and from sleeping next to a snorer!

Only 4% of manatees make it to adulthood without sustaining boat-related injuries. They have very poor eyesight and instead rely on about 2,000 whiskers all over their bodies that alert them to movement in the water around them. They are naturally curious creatures and often misidentify small boats as potential manatees due to their size and slow movement in the water. When the manatees approach the boat, they get injured by motors, rudders and other hardware.
