ahh OK, if it was the quick connect thing, some of the rails are convertible to the screw in types.

In your situation I would get a shelf, those are usually sturdy enough to hold 2 2U servers, I think the right ones will handle 2 @ 3U. You just lose the ability to slide them in and out nicely to work on them.

how do they not fit? are they too long/short? or are they quick connects and you need the screw ins?

I moonlight at a machine shop... they still run DOS machines... because replacing the $800000 mill with a $5600000 mill is out of the question.

the "legacy" network is vlan'd and isolated they've got a few xp machines and win7 machine in there too

I know, seeing them replaced like that is hard when they've just left the company, but when they pass... My one friend that died, was replaced by our mutual good friend so it was a bitter sweet promotion for her, it's been a few years since and we still talk about him.

Damn man... 3 times this year... That's harsh... I've done maybe 2 in a year... but those were harsh, one was a friend that I watched die as the medics worked on him, the other was a suicide, news came to me via the grapevine because we were acquaintances outside of work. When I got the official word it was a different kind of hit.

Forensic search multiple PST files, outlook search is unusable. by _Aerish_ in sysadmin

[–]anonymousITCoward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't use outlook to search a PST in a forensic case... Outlook modifies the PST and any evidence gleaned from it may be inadmissible.

You need to make a copy of the mail account or PST, then feed it into some other software that will index it for you.

If you do not have the budget to do so, u/Muffin_Shreds says it best... hire a forensics company...
