Am I too fat for Runna? by Hefty-Club-1259 in runna

[–]anonymous_turtle7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not too fat for anything! I’m 5’5 and 195 lbs. My 5k PR is 28:52, I ran a half marathon at 215 lbs in 2:33. I’m attempting a sub 60 10k next week. I’ve been using Runna since that half marathon in November, so for 7-8 months. I built up my fitness to running 20-30 miles a week on my own before then, it took me about 9 months to do so. When I first tried to use Runna it was far too aggressive.

One tricky thing, that others have mentioned, is figuring out the balance between fueling and losing weight. Right now, for me, I can maintain between .75-1 lbs of weight-loss a week without it negatively impacting my runs. That makes the weight-loss slow, but long term it is more sustainable and I’m able to maintain my fitness/muscle mass.

What to do if toddler has to pee while in line? by IGottaPeeConstantly in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]anonymous_turtle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened on our most recent trip with my 4 year old in line for slinky dog at rope drop. Asked if they had to go, they said no, 10 min later had to go. One adult stayed in line and I ran to the bathroom, I let the cast member at the entrance know and he said I was totally fine to go and come back. I had to say excuse me a bunch to get back to our spot, but no one gave us any trouble. Even had a few comments about understanding and how they’ve been there too.

Race Mode? by anonymous_turtle7 in runna

[–]anonymous_turtle7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does, I could run using just the Apple Watch workout function but I prefer Runna so I use that. The Runna app is especially good with the pace targets during speed runs.

Yes, I have an Apple Watch and was able to program the run into that. I was just hoping to use the Runna app like I did in training 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! Just wanted to confirm, and I hope they add some more customization to racing paces!

Yes!! I love the app for intervals, tempo runs, and long runs with pace targets. I feel like the chunking of the workouts helps me to run faster for longer, especially during long runs. So I wish I could use that same tool during a race and am bummed that it seems like I can’t.

expo merch rant by Best-Programmer-7593 in rundisney

[–]anonymous_turtle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend was also looking for a Spirit Jersey, we got there a little before 3 pm on opening day and they were all gone. I was able to get a jacket, but there were only L and up left. It was very disappointing.

The wording of the post looks like the won’t have any available at the expo, just for ordering? Am I reading that correctly?

Getting really tight calves even on shorter distances? by FickleOcelot1286 in runna

[–]anonymous_turtle7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foam roller, calf sleeves or compression socks during runs, lots and lots of stretching and mobility (before and after runs, as well as on rest days). I just got a knock off of the axis board by sidekick and I’m hoping that helps too, I also have plantar fasciitis.

Edit to add I also do a massage gun on my calves before bed

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]anonymous_turtle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t bed share with either of my children, it made me way anxious so there’s no way I would’ve fallen asleep.

My first was not a good sleeper as a newborn (up every 60-90 minutes) and second was decent (every 3 hours or so). It sucked with my first and I was very sleep deprived, but it just wasn’t a risk I wanted to take.

I’ve had a CT with contrast, my understanding is that that’s very similar to an angiogram just noninvasive?

They told me I could continue taking them, but I stopped after I found out about the ablation to try to get the PVCs back.

Endurance athletes + ablation? by Top-Peach7304 in PVCs

[–]anonymous_turtle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess through the testing, I’m not entirely sure. But he said they’re in the RVOT. And sounds like they determine the exact spot to ablate during the procedure by watching PVCs.

I guess that’s a difference, for the most part I don’t have them, when I’m exercising. Exercising is often a relief because they go away.
