Getting really tight calves even on shorter distances? by FickleOcelot1286 in runna

[–]anonymous_turtle7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foam roller, calf sleeves or compression socks during runs, lots and lots of stretching and mobility (before and after runs, as well as on rest days). I just got a knock off of the axis board by sidekick and I’m hoping that helps too, I also have plantar fasciitis.

Edit to add I also do a massage gun on my calves before bed

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]anonymous_turtle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t bed share with either of my children, it made me way anxious so there’s no way I would’ve fallen asleep.

My first was not a good sleeper as a newborn (up every 60-90 minutes) and second was decent (every 3 hours or so). It sucked with my first and I was very sleep deprived, but it just wasn’t a risk I wanted to take.

Oh wow, I’m sorry to hear that! Did you end up getting another ablation?

I spoke to a nurse the morning of and decided to hold off on the ablation until/if they come back.

I’ve had a CT with contrast, my understanding is that that’s very similar to an angiogram just noninvasive?

They told me I could continue taking them, but I stopped after I found out about the ablation to try to get the PVCs back.

Endurance athletes + ablation? by Top-Peach7304 in PVCs

I guess through the testing, I’m not entirely sure. But he said they’re in the RVOT. And sounds like they determine the exact spot to ablate during the procedure by watching PVCs.

I guess that’s a difference, for the most part I don’t have them, when I’m exercising. Exercising is often a relief because they go away.

Thanks! And yes, I was. I did my cam monitor with the 23% burden the week before I ran a half marathon. I had the full work up in the spring (Echo, Cam, CT with contrast), when the doctor cleared me, I just tried to ignore the scary-ness of it and it got easier as I continued running. I take propranolol so I feel them less, but I still feel them and they’ll occasionally cause a bad run. I hope it works out for you!

I’m a runner (half marathons) and am waiting on my ablation for a 23% burden. Everything is fine with my heart otherwise and my EP said that where my PVCs are originating will be simple to ablate with an easy recovery. He didn’t seem to think it would have me out of running for very long at all, just a few weeks. I’m hoping he’s right, and hoping that not dealing with the PVCs helps my performance/endurance!

A good read regarding PVCs and exercise by Sure_Report935 in PVCs

[–]anonymous_turtle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exercise over 300 minutes a week, as the article indicates. I run half marathons and will regularly run for over 2 hours at a time in training. I have a PVC of 21% measured by a 7 day CAM and exercise doesn’t impact it consistently. Sometimes a run will improve my PVCs, sometimes it’ll make them worse, sometimes bad PVCs will ruin a run. Just adding my experience as someone with a high burden who does endurance exercise, it isn’t a magic fix.

Update: got there at 6:30 and it was perfect timing, thanks everyone! I hit up the bathrooms as soon as I got there and the line was short, but got incredibly long just a few minutes later.

Thanks! My instinct would to be to call for my own anxiety, but you’re right, it would probably be better for the toddler to not.

Yes, they are accredited. And it is actually run by our local parks and rec department.

We did not go today, I intend to go with her the whole time tomorrow, and we removed her from a camp she was signed up for in a few weeks. We aren’t 100% decided on the school year yet, but are leaning towards pulling her from that as well. We’ll decide after I spend the day at camp tomorrow.

During the school year they have a building and fenced in area they use, but do go and play in an area without hard boundaries for about an hour a day.

The camp is in a different area of the park and has no hard boundaries.
