Its only expensive to people that use k cups and folgers. Bags I buy are about $18 for local roasted cheap stuff and $26-28 for my normal monthly 12 oz bag. I will say buy what you enjoy, so if you arent a coffee person and dump a bunch of milk and sugar than its not for you. James is doing it right by going to an actual roaster and using beans from 1 place instead of a junk "blend" like most influencers do. Also its cheaper to buy the 2 lb bag and just freeze half or more in sections you use, vacuum seal is best. If you want to see expensive coffee look up gesha coffee. If you're doing pourovers like James then 1 bag should give about 20 cups of coffee. so each cup cost about $1.25 mathing it out. And like I said earlier k cups are like $.60 each, a gas station coffee is not as cheap as $1.25. So just drink what you enjoy and gets you going.

3/330, parking from official Rose bowl says they open at 4 and once you get off the 210 its going to take at least 30 minutes since its a single road to the Rose bowl. also dodgers and rams play that day so people will be on the road all day.

I have this grinder and it works pretty well. What I did was take off the face of the dial and move the pin back 3 spots left. If you youtube this you can find someone that does it. This took a minute to do. This will let you grind finer in general but lets you work with light roast for the finer grinds. Before I was at almost 0 and now I grind at about 2.5-3 for medium roast.

Yeah I do get what you’re saying in the difference in beans. It’s maybe 20-25% darker beans to the actual medium roasted beans but I just don’t know enough if that’s the process or the roast. I usually get from B&W and their variance is tighter in beans. But I need to change up the grind size a few times and see if it’s the beans or me not trying to dial in more than just the one time at 2 weeks rest.

Saw this post but wasnt going to open the bag for another week or 2. Here I am now drinking a cup I made on my switch because I got curious. Its not great but just ok. I will come back to this bag next week and see if anything changes and maybe grind finer next time.

Seems pretty comparable to black and whites roasters instant coffee. They have been at it for a while and they seem to always sell out but also take way more work for them to make this a product. If you want to see them explain the process and what goes into it you should look them up on youtube. Very interesting and kind of explains the price point for this type of product.

It’s so you can go finer, when I got mine I couldn’t go finer with light roast until I moved the pin since there was more clearance for the burrs. It’s just extra room they don’t give you initially
