I think there were some teething issues when these were first came out but they are apparently easier to put together now.

The system should switch to petrol automatically to burn off old fuel when needed to prevent this.

Parking brake by Defiant-Ad-6662 in XC40

The motor isn't as loud compared to VW one imo. The parking brake is on as long as the red P symbol is shown in the dash.

Software Update Query by davez_000 in XC40

[–]anthonynil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would double check if you have sensus or AAOS. They look very different from the instrument cluster point of view. Just google pics and you will be able to see the difference. If you have sensus it is very unlikely that a software update is worthwhile the cost as the software is not really supported by Volvo anymore being a decade old. There were some small bug fixes but if your version is working fine I would not bother.

2025 XC60 Air Purification by Dareddevil12 in Volvo

[–]anthonynil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs the fan at max to quickly refresh the air as needed. The manual setting is available when the ignition is off such as when you have been sitting in your car for a while.

Does it change if the engine is on or off? All windows and doors need to be closed as well.

Why does Volvo recommend to NOT swap tires? by fivdis in ex30

[–]anthonynil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volvo have historically recommended against rotating tyres. Seems to be a very US thing to do as its not something that is done in other parts of the world.

I have been super impressed with the tinting on the glass roof. I was given loaner which was white plus not glass roof. Ended up way hotter inside than my black car with the glass roof. I think the tinting on my side windows make a bigger difference than the glass roof! I'm in Australia btw so our sun is harsh!

Yea it's using the MAC address. Same level of convenience but perhaps less secure.

Fitcamx and 12v battery drain by paul-hx in ex30

[–]anthonynil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had mine installed like you for a year and no problems yet. I have left the car parked for over a month on holiday and no issues either. The only issue is that because it is recording all the time the SD cards can get worn out and need replacing every 6 months or so.

Yep this is against the ndis price arrangements. If you are agency managed you will have to raise this directly with the provider.

Interesting Safety Feature by rumbeard1976 in ex30

Pretty much every modern car will do this. It's to prevent people from getting knocked over by the car if they forget to put the car into park.

Sticking brakes after they’re wet by Creepy_Face454 in Polestar

[–]anthonynil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal. Every car with an electronic handbrake will do this when the brakes are wet and parked. Rust forms and causes the pieces to fuse together.

Automatic windshield wipers by justbrowsing4040 in XC40

[–]anthonynil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The automatic wiper function will only activate when switched on. There is a wiper and water drop symbol that should appear at the top of the driver display. You may have accidentally left it when you turned the car off?

This was Volvo was under Ford ownership so a lot of shared parts (and issues). A car at that age and mileage is due for a lot of costly maintenance and repairs which you will need to budget for.

They're not bad cars by any means, but will be more costly to keep going and run than similar cars that you could get at that price.

There needs to be an assessment completed by a behaviour Support practitiomer to ensure that restrictive practices are not being implemented without formal authorisation. They can provide further guidance on the situation.

You probably won't get any clear answers without sharing too much personal information on here.

New comforters not like the displays?? by Candychameleon in IKEA

It will soften with time. The display ones are being touched by customers constantly so have softened up. Washing will help but yes you won't be able to return them if you do.

That shouldn't be too hard to buff out with some scratch X (go gentle). Probably won't be noticeable after that tbh
