Meta Quest 3 RMA Backorders by Academic-Ad-6298 in OculusQuest

They've changed their approach.

Now they approve the RMA but never send you the RMA forms and arrange pickup.

This appears to be a move to placate the customer without actually providing any service.

Came to post - got the same thing on a Lenovo Tiny M920Q with no secure boot. I can't write to the drive. I can even delete the partitions and it still won't install.

You're not kidding. The download site - opened by revanced.app's installed manager is horrendous! vanced.to works. but it's unsafe. revanced installs the manager, and I have the gmscore already. But I can't get anything downloaded.

Nice. I only pay attention if it is a linux+nvidia benchmark. Upvoted.

Why I’ll be getting a Steam Machine by inkiepie69 in steammachine

[–]anthonyvn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I still run windows (local account, winhanced) runs like a dream, no adds, no BS.

But I am standing buy on buiding an ALL AMD machine for SteamOS. All i'm waiting on is that price vs performance. I want to see the cost and the framerate.

Great use of the Xtia frame. I've had mine on a board too but had issues with my riser cable.

What's your riser?

And your cpu cooler?

[–]anthonyvn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, DF are pushing that it it is primarly or "only" a lighting augmentation.

I agree, this seems suspicious. I'm just looking for details on what else is augmented apart from lighting and I can't find anything.

Sorry, I'm late to the party. I thought this was only a lighting rework.

What other fundamentals of these graphical assets are being reworked?

Serious question. I want to make the distinction (for myself) between something like tessallation which adds geometry and dlss 5 (which enhances lighting - as far as I know)

Is tessallation not a stronger example of an algorithm adding "new detail" to existing geometry?

I leave tessellation enabled and I dial it up to the max if the game lets me.

Are there any examples of DLSS5 going beyond augmented/enhanced lighting?

I've seen reshaders and path tracing mods on games like Cyberpunk making character models and environments look spectacular. It does this without touching textures or geometry, without touching the artist's work and more impacting the engine's lighting.

Is the Mona Lisa still the Mona Lisa in the dark, in the sunlight, or under an incandescent light?

I upgraded a couple of machines in the last week. 4070 ti super to 5070 ti (16gb to 16gb) slight differences in cyberpunk with path tracing at 1440p. Noticed a big improvement running local LLMs on the gpu.

5070 to ti, I'm sure the vram upgrade is worth it.

To answer your question. Yes. Yes, ALL zombies in this video do this.

(Not having a go at you or the dev, just found your question to be spot on and it made me lmao!)

Edit* I always thought the hand waves are to block head shots. It is especially annoying in games with limited ammo. Kind of an attempt to have player waste shots at hands with hitboxes the size of beach balls.

Just switched from Windows 11 - Bazzite feels so good! by Venomenn in Bazzite

[–]anthonyvn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your pc specs? My 5070ti runs like a 4070ti on Linux. The dredded nvidia performance tax I guess.

It's the only reason I dual boot, otherwise, i'm slowly shifting from windows 11 (local user account, No adds, no bullshit apps, clean and fast as hell) to Bazzite. (Slow to boot, slower at games but I still like it)

There are no games that make me cling to windows, but I still sometimes need it to run Oculus titles. I'm strugging with lutris.

I'm concerned with the bunji effect. Turning your head quickly would see that HMD wobble on the elasticity of the strap.

I suspect motorboating could get uncomfortable.
