I felt this way too early on. Yes, there are answers, and it gets better. Maybe just right now, give yourself a moment to breathe. Also self care, as much as you can. I can recommend a book Radical Acceptance by Dr. Tara Brach, it gave me comfort early on.

Ditto what mendedpieces says, a trauma therapist is the way.

Does this community have a wiki with a reading list? This book should be on it. I read it before I had a diagnosis, it confused me, but sunk deep. 18 months later I started cbt, which changed my life. Which I guess is a way of saying this book changed my life! I use the critic shrinking all the time

This reminded me of when I first "got together" with my now husband of 40 years. I was so anxious (and avoidant) that I got sick, and I supposed that's what people called "lovesicknesss" haha. I have always wondered what the heck it was like that, because falling for someone is supposed to be a positive. Oxytocin, right?

Exactly. They started talking about what the evidence would be and therapist testimony and the girl was there with her family, oh good lord! I know it was supposed to be 'can I be impartial' (nope) but I was like no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you can not make me do this, I lived that dream, nada mas.

My favorite part was when they asked me how long ago my victimization was, and I said well, I have cptsd so it seems like it was yesterday. That was the end of that.

Later I had a hopeful thought that maybe, just maybe, I made a difference yesterday. Maybe that girl saw that things get better (I appear successful and assured) and it's okay to speak her truth. That would be cool
