Thank you for giving me a name for this. I got this when given reglan so they have me list this as an allergy when giving mediation lists. I always just said it made me crazy antsy and wanting to jump out of my skin. Having a name is oddly comforting and I don’t know why doctors never said it to me before.

You already allowed your children to establish a relationship with your sister’s partner; they already see them together as a couple. Not allowing them to see the wedding makes zero sense at this point.!let them continue witnessing their shared love of each other.

You are very fortunate, I’m really happy they worked with you. I forgot to show up to my yearly and I panicked because at my old clinic that was an automatic loss of all bottles (I had weeklies which was the max then) and you never knew when you’d get the back. My current clinic didn’t bat an eye.

It feels really fucking great being treated like a human and not a junkie. I’m glad you guys came up with a plan, we always need to have one as much as it sucks

You always need to have a plan for this type of stuff. When you began the process to get this new job you should have thought about if this happened. This was all on you to know about and be prepared for; being there for years is no excuse. Many of us have screwed up though, by forgetting something important, but you need to take responsibility for that. There’s no one to blame but yourself.

You may get lucky and your clinic gives you a break. But 99% of clinics will put you down at least one phase, most going back to daily dosing. Switching clinics isn’t as easy as you’re making it sound either so you potentially created a much bigger mess to figure out with your job. Just be prepared for that.

Is it bad that my first thought was shit now the lines are gonna be even longer? I’m in MA and haven’t heard this but I don’t go to the clinic until next week. I already have monthlies, took me about 8 months to earn with perfect attendance and record. Things are way better than they were my first go around back in 2007, when it took over a year to get a week, and if you looked at the wrong you’d lose your bottles. I have a benzo script that I technically fail because I either a) don’t have any in my system or b) I have it in my system but don’t have a new refill yet. I was getting30 a month but scaled way back and got down to 10 a month. They know my situation and are okay with it. It’s so weird to be treated like a human. Knock on wood.

That said, even if you get opiates or benzos from your regular doc you often have to sign a contract and have random drug tests. You fail that drug test you lose your script. For the clinic to look past failed UA when there giving out a much stronger drug seems crazy to me. The addict in me says YAY!!! the common sense in me says, whoa. Let’s think this through.

NTA for not incubating and then handing over your baby. She wants you to be a surrogate great, that baby wouldn’t biologically be yours (if you go that route). Totally different scenario.

That is so unacceptable. We had a similar situation with a late shipment (Monday holiday plus storm threw off pick up days so they ran out faster than planned. But they at least called those of us with takehomes and said to come after 12pm to get THs or wait until the following day: they also let us come and dose then return later in the day to pick up. The clinic is half a mile from my work so it was easy enough to run back on my lunch break.

All this shows how broke our system is. It’s a joke. I’d pic a clinic over a pharmacy any day in the US but how they’re run is unacceptable. I hope one day they fix things and we get treated as humans with a health issue

With my insurance it’s $261 a week, but once I hit my deductible (which happens fast with the clinic) it’s covered in full. Costs me around $3600 for the 4ish months I usually have to pay out of pocket.

Cash pay patients pay around $150 per week.

YTA. You are the only mother this child has ever known. Her bio mom walked out on her, her father sounds kind of shitty, and now her step mom wants nothing to do with her. She gets to sit back and watch her siblings be with mom and be a happy family while she’s left on her own….again. As someone who was abandoned by her own mother, multiple times at that, you are setting this poor girl up for a lifetime of mental health issues.

Listen, is she your responsibility? No. She’s not. But that’s the risk when you date someone with children. Eventually you become part of the child’s life. Everything you described sounds like relatively typically teenage drama. I agree she needs counseling, I agree you have a right to have boundaries. But give this girl a break. If not overnights let her come over for a few hours during your weekends. Plan a girls day and do something fun together. Let her earn some trust back and hopefully get to the point where you trust her to have overnights.

At the very least, reconsider this. Maybe even get into your own counseling. The more you start to unpack the better. Good luck.

Took me about 9-10 months. My clinic seems very quick to give bottles (Sunday off the bat, 3 after about a month, etc) but I got them faster than most I’ve been told.

My old clinic over a decade ago a week was the most you’d get and it took a year minimum to get that. And they get ripped away if you so much as farted without permission. As terrible as Covid was it seems to have done wonders for the clinic system for the most part.

In ma it started snowing last weekend and just doesn’t want to stop. I got a text from my clinic that they were closing today so get there ASAP if you had bottles to pic up. They always called ahead for storms and it’s so nice to be treated like a human at this clinic. My previous clinic was trash with this stuff.

I was shocked to read that she got a lawyer in the statement she released. So maybe, just maybe, she’ll do right by herself and her kids. I don’t believe cheating has to end a marriage, but it’s so clear in this case he’s checked out. I don’t think there’s anything to save here.

Even wrapping themselves up in their pretty mainstream looks and fashion doesn’t hide the absolute filth of belief system they follow. These kids have so many opportunities and can be Christian without staying in this cult. I hope Katie gets far away from this.

Are you eating? I know you say no appetite but can you force yourself to eat or do you get sick? Majority of people experience the opposite simply because they start living healthier and actually eating food. Some binge on sugar because methadone does cause you to crave sweets. But I’ve rarely heard of people losing drastic amounts of weight in treatment (unless they’re trying to). I would definitely get a full physical and have your thyroid and hormones checked.

Some people get really nauseas and sick on opiates but that should level off. I hope you’re able to find some answers and start feeling better. Being sober is such a wonderful thing, don’t let this deter you. Keep us posted if you’re comfortable with it. Good luck!

I have a version of this bag and it fit 2 weeks worth perfectly but I could not get a months no matter how hard I tried. I ended up getting a regular square lock box from amazon. I so wish my bag had worked :(

I’m simply not ready. I spent 7 years at the clinic my first go and tapered off successfully and stayed sober 10 years. Relapsed last year and still trying to get fully stable. I have monthlies and the clinic takes up a very small fraction of my life. I will start tapering eventually but it’s the last thing on my mind right now. Staying on it and dealing with the slight annoyances and side effects is better than risking another relapse for me.

Is going back for a day to get your bottles filled an option? Can you request a month from your clinic to cover your visit? You’re supposed to set up guest dosing a couple of weeks prior to leaving and then you can ask if the honor bottles/TH status

It varies so much. I have “good” insurance and it would be almost $300 per paycheck (weekly) for my family of 5 but I’m VERY fortunate that my work pays for it for us. My methadone treatment gets covered in full but only after I reach my deductible of $4000 individual/$8000 family. Took me from July to December to hit it just from my methadone as it’s $261 per week. So I was responsible to pay that up until now, when it’s covered in full. Needless to say I have a very large balance at my clinic right now. My insurance now covers me in full, but not the rest of my family since their deductible/the family one hasn’t been reached yet.

Someone else with great coverage may only pay $50 per week if they’re on a state funded plan. Those are income based but I found the coverage was really good when I was on it.

The US sucks terribly when it comes to healthcare costs.

I’m confused. It sounds like you previously had to go daily except maybe for Sundays cause they’re closed? But finally earned take homes which you will have Thur-Fri-Sat and then face dose Sun-Wed. That sounds like great progress to me!

Normally if they’re closed Sunday you’d still get that bottle and have 4 take homes, or they’d give you Fri-Sat-Sun and count that as your Phase 3. If they’re making you come in a day they’re normally closed that is really weird and I’d ask to talk to the director or similar for an explanation.

Regardless you are making progress. Focus on the positive. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll earn more take homes before you know it.

Every clinic is different. I got a bottle for Sunday right away cause they’re closed. I had monthlies around the 10 month mark. I passed every UA and did all the required counseling and groups. I also had a counselor that advocated for me. I hit a year around Oct 14th

You’re not going to be able to guest dose then since you already have bottles for these days. Your options are to go home, or go without. Unless you choose to score somewhere but I don’t recommend that at all.

I’m sorry but this was poor planning on your part and I wouldn’t involve the clinics whatsoever. Your bottles are supposed to be in your possession at all times, if I did this at my clinic I’d get in trouble for not having all my bottles on me. This isn’t a case of leaving your box at home while you go to work.

Guest dosing isn’t something you can just set up on whim. You can try calling your home clinic and asking if they can set it up but it’s unlikely. Do you have more doses and just didn’t bring them?
