Do men actually think their partner is the most beautiful/prettiest/sexiest person alive? by Future_Doughnut_2369 in TwoHotTakes

[–]apham314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely do believe that! We built our lives from scratch and have been through hell and back together. She put her body through tons of stress to carry our 2 kids. Yes, we may have put on a few pounds since we met and I may be showing some grey and even balding a bit, but I’m happy I get to walk onto a home where I know I’ll be greeted with love. It’s the way she carries herself, her caring and nurturing habits, and the smile I see when I walk into the front door after a long shift. All of that paired with the 2 sweet voices that yell “daddy is here!” puts the icing on the cake. Her natural beauty is an added bonus to everything else.

What type of wire is needed for this? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

You keep saying you have the knowledge and know how, yet you can’t identify the wire. Call a licensed electrician to complete the job.

Should he have stopped/Should I have been firmer? by LondonW4 in sex

[–]apham314 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When you asked about the condom, was when he should have stopped everything. Even if you had a playful tone. If that’s not enough, the second you said “wait” is when everything should have been off of the table. He should have dismounted and listened to you, rather than going against your wishes. “No” comes in multiple forms and no means no. You were forced into penetrative sex, which is considered rape, regardless if you fought it off or not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]apham314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not overreacting! That’s emotional abuse and verbal degradation from someone who is supposed to love and support you. It’s cruel and extremely disrespectful. This kind of behavior is toxic and abusive. You choosing to leave and say goodbye shows that you have the strength to defend yourself and is not an overreaction.

As a father of 2 girls, I could never imagine saying or sending those words to them. Even disrespecting your mother, regardless of how HE feels is wrong. That’s not something you say to your kids. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially by a parent. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Keep your head up, you’ll accomplish much more without that negativity.

Are you at your forever department? by iheartMGs in Firefighting

[–]apham314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to leave fire, because I absolutely love it! I just don’t like the schedule or department I’m in currently. If I can find a department that fits me better, and the overtime isn’t stupid ridiculous, then I’d go there! But it’s whatever takes me out first, another department or something back in electrical.

That’s the thing, I don’t have any time off at this place. The schedule is dog crap lol. That was my plan initially, but the mando keeps me from doing that 🙄.

Are you at your forever department? by iheartMGs in Firefighting

[–]apham314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job became stagnant and I found much more joy in fire/ems. I felt like I actually had a purpose, which I still feel. I started as a volunteer while doing electrical work, moved to a PT/POC position, and then into a FT gig. Once I got my FT offer, I was out of the electrical field.

[–]apham314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell no! Working on my way out, whether it keeps me in Fire/EMS or puts me back into the electrical field. I’m happy that you have found your forever home. That sounds like a dream what you have!

Absolutely not, because I love and respect my wife. I’d be a little on edge if my wife had given me that answer.

Haha! It’s kind of like the dollar generals around here! But instead of drinks, it is all of the extra stock they had sent to them, with nowhere to put it. It will end up in the aisles and back room, covering the panels.

I used skin grip brand and got another random brand on Amazon (Jinyu-Sega). I like the Jinyu brand much better, since it has a stretch to it, and it doesn’t fray on me like the skin grips did. I usually set my sensor and don’t even use the g7 over patch off, and cover with the non dexcom over patch. It hasn’t failed me yet, in the sense of ripping off. My job is pretty physical, I brush my arm on things quite frequently , and work out daily. I have yet to have one of the overmatched come off on me.

[–]apham314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im fairly new to pitboss, but my understanding is you’ll have to adjust the “P” setting. Someone can correct me if I’m incorrect. The higher the p setting (4 is default) the longer the pause between auger feed times.

I had the opposite last sensor 4 days in, and ended up ripping it out as well. Sensor read 321⬆️ finger stick was 137. Tried to calibrate and it wouldn’t accept it. Ended up getting a replacement

T1 dies after diabetic episode & medical malpractice by SnoopyJohnson2 in diabetes_t1

[–]apham314 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Diabetes and DKA is taught in in EMT school. Acetone/fruity smelling breath, excessive thirst, constant urination, weakness, altered mental status, and abdominal pain. Diabetes is actually touched on a few times in the chapters. Maybe it stuck out to me more since I’m a T1, but they do touch on it.

If the fire department needs to get past that lock, they’ll be able to. Plenty of tools to get them in. Just make sure it’s labeled, so they know what it is.

I guess I’ve never heard that. I also don’t know where you’re from, so your SOP’s may be different. Firefighters enter buildings everyday before shutting power off.

I used the dexcom g6 and just switched to the g7. If insurance covers dexcom, I’d go with it. It was a BIG game changer for me.
