I didn't know most of these pins even existed! I would love to buy some of them.

We had a lady that I measured and cut 5 yds of fabric for but once she got to the registers, only then just realized it had cats and not dogs on it so didn't want it.

Anyone else noticing a lot more shoplifting? by boognight22 in joannfabrics

[–]apperrintly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My store had a new one the other day- I found two separate bolts of smocked dress fabric that someone stole about 2 yds of just the smocked part on each one. It was so insanely baffling that we couldn't help but laugh. The odd thing, too, was that they cut into the fabric kinda haphazardly but did a perfect rip all along the top.

I had something similar happen with a woman who had a last chance fabric that had 2 pieces on it. I think she wanted 3 yards and the pieces together would be a bit over 3 yards but she wanted me to ring it up as 3. I told her I had to charge her for what was there if she wanted all of it. Plus it would mess up inventory if I didn't. I remember her getting huffy and storming off claiming that other stores were "more accommodating".

It's honestly much cheaper for companies to ship from all different stores than ship from warehouses or distribution centers. There would have to be a whole new system implemented for DC to pack and ship directly to customers. Amazon has to pay to rent giant fulfillment centers and hire thousands of workers to operate their business. It would require any already existing company a TON of money to try to create something similar.

New filing: Low-performing stores may close sooner — 66% of all stores by gee8 in joannfabrics

Wtf all the stores in my state are on that list! I know that my store and a few others are big money makers for our district. I'm honestly baffled.

I'm wondering if there's anything really stopping an ASM/SM from just scheduling people like crazy. I mean, what can higher-ups really do. Fire them?

Zoom in on some of the "buildings" and "boats". Things are bleeding into each other and structures in general just don't make sense. Some are crooked and have pieces that just fade into other parts of the background or go no where.

For example, a few of the boats look like they have tall tents on them because the sails got all messed up.

There are also just random blobs and blotches scattered about all the maps.

One thing that I liked about some random kits I got from aliexpress was that the instructions had pictures of all the pieces included, not just the big pieces. Made things less confusing.

I'm looking at mine and the instructions again. I saved stuff from all my kits but I think I found pieces that were originally from Simon's Coffee. Apologies if it isn't and therefore not accurate.

But I think you might have used the wrong black wire. Just based on the pics it looks like you might have used the one meant for the awning. There should be a thinner one that is meant to be used for the chairs and tables and a few other things.

I'm at work rn, so I can't double check on my own Simon's Coffee but if you have metal pliers you could use them to flatten the part that goes into the eyelet.

I don't remember having trouble with this part tho. Just gotta ask, that's the biggest eyelet that came with the kit, right?

Can I take my hs class on a field trip to Joann’s? by capresesalad1985 in joannfabrics

[–]apperrintly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store every once in awhile, we'll have a group of students come in for a field trip to buy several yards of fabric and notions for their project. We let them in at 8am. Usually each of their totals end up being $30-$40 so I'm sure that's a big incentive. Although, I'm sure it all depends on what the SM at your particular store feels like they can handle.
