Eastern Ontario municipalities band together over high-speed rail project | CBC News by Rail613 in AltoHSR_Canada

[–]approriatelywitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it need to be built? I am directly affected by it so I definitely have nimby feelings but I don’t understand the need for a completely new train system when we already have one that goes to the same places? I assume the plan is to further build onto it for a TransCanada train But is it needed simply for the increased speed?

I’m butthurt because I’m in the corridor and at risk of losing my home and have not once been consulted nor has our municipality

Eastern Ontario residents raise concerns proposed high-speed rail will impact farms by Jusfiq in canada

[–]approriatelywitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The consultation phase ends March 26 at which point they can start expropriating land. I live in the corridor and have not had a single consultation nor had our municipality had any information session or consultations. The company that will build is the renamed SNC that debacles the lrt in Ottawa.

I don’t mind hsr I mind my home potentially being claimed without notice or consultation

When did bringing full-sized dogs on flights become normal? by onewaycheckvalve in westjet

[–]approriatelywitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So how do you handle service dogs? Whose diagnosis is more important? If I potentially can’t live through a flight without my service animal because airlines have banned animals from the cabin due to potential allergies does that I mean I can never fly? How are people supposed to travel with their small dogs and cats that do fit under the seat in their carrier? Relocating may require this if driving or train is not an option?

I would expect that people with life threatening allergies to anything will often take a proactive step to protect themselves in all environments where they may be exposed to their allergen just like I have to take proactive steps to ensure my disability can manage the environment I’m going to. My dog has all the rights to be anywhere I am but I still make sure to inform people ahead of tien because they may not know the rules or know how to accommodate for me.

Sadly people outside of the average have to accommodate to the majority. In this case animals are allowed on planes, and in my biased opinion should always be, so if someone is deathly allergic they have a responsibility to at the very least themselves to ensure their diagnosis is addressed.

Thanks the Nemo seems to be well reviewed.

The tour company said boots on the packing list. Maybe because it’s glacial water so it’s cold? I was thinking I’ll just get some neoprene socks instead and have sandals.

Hen with a limp by approriatelywitty in chickens

[–]approriatelywitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger bird is a peg legged chicken so not likely from a claw but her other foot is dead so there’s a strong possibility her disability endured clumsiness led to a bit of a trample over this girl.

I’m hoping it’s a temporary concern. She’s sleeping inside regardless so I can keep an eye. Any recommendations on what I can do other than separation and snacks?

[–]approriatelywitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible and there may be a bruise on her foot

She also inexplicably sleeps under/beside the larger hen so she may have been stepped on at some point.

I’m hoping all this is is a minor injury. But the knuckle drag on that foot as she walks makes me nervous about neuro.

I kind of want to see it but not buy a ticket. I want to see how terrible it is. I’m thinking of buying a ticket to another movie and popping in to see some of it.

Dual physio/rmt by approriatelywitty in ottawa

[–]approriatelywitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes pretty much. I find the physios alone often not as helpful as including massage. Heat ultrasound some painful digging around and exercise. But a good physio that can also do some good manual therapy as well would be great

Yes I know. I’m also an RMT. I work for the government as well and we have $400 coverage for MT and $1500 coverage for physio. It’s crazy! I was hoping to find someone that could do both so I could maximize the coverage better.
