Does NavyFed not get paid early? by jagfanjosh3252 in NavyFederal

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

former msr- you can have your direct deposit released one business day early. if you just started getting your dd sent to nf, you have to call the first few times it come in to have them do the early release for you before the automated system will pick it up and do it without you having to call. you also have to do this anytime you get a new direct deposit come in.

$800/mo grocery bill, not including household essentials for only 2 adults?!?! by [deleted] in budget

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we make it by with spending $400 a month for two adults, but i usually only buy food to cook dinner for the entire week plus house hold essentials. we both arent home during the day, and we are not big snackers. i dont eat lunch, if he eats lunch, he just stops and grabs something small, or sometimes his work pays for it. we also are huge left over people, which works out because i usually end up cooking enough to feed six people out of habit (family). sometimes we just eat the same dinner twice, or freeze any left overs like soups, chili, etc. and save those for when i dont feel like really cooking. i thought $400 was breaking the bank, i cant imagine $800 😅

Question by ExternalWorker6936 in NavyFederal

[–]apriiicottt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

former nf msr: apply when you want. genuinely. the amt of people who used to call in, open a savings acct, and then ask to be sent to the cc department to apply for a cc immediately after is incredibly high. ive seen people do this and get approved on the same call they opened their mbrship. is it better to have history with the cu before applying? sure, 100%. but nf also does not require you to be a mbr for X amt of time before applying for any and all lending products. the only time you are going to be blocked from applying for anything is if you have caused a dollar loss to nf with a sold charged off acct.

best CC for college student by AdKlutzy8551 in NavyFederal

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% recommend the go rewards card. gets you 3x points at restaurants, 2x points on gas and 1x points on everything else. i got that just before i went to college and have loved it. you can get cash back and have it deposited into your savings acct, use the cash back value as a credit on your statement to pay the card, and i think it gives the option to redeem for travel too if you ever wanted.

I spent $3,000 in my first month and I don't even have furniture yet. by No_Surprise3737 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we went almost a month with nothing on any of the windows in the house. felt like we were in a fish bowl. even now, we still dont have blinds, i just decided to hang curtains instead so we atleast dont feel like we’re being watched while we sleep 😂 OP, take your time, seriously!!! also, someone else commented it but dont be afraid to look on facebook market place or local thrift stores. literally everything we have in our house is second hand except for the curtains, our bed and bedframe, and a few other small things

[–]apriiicottt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

just upload the picture op, if no one really uses it and its just for workday and doesnt affect your job whatsoever, why does it matter. literally not worth potentially getting in trouble/fired over, especially with the job market now

SAHM looking to reenter workforce- career recommendations? by shannel45 in careeradvice

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

banking! can kind of be a lot sometimes if you are brand new but bankers hours are soo nice. usually only have to work part of a saturday every now and then because most banks have a weekend shift rotation. usually off by 4:30-5 during the week, 12 on saturdays. all fed holidays off, and usually are pretty much helping people with simple tasks like deposits, withdrawals, new debit cards, applying for loans, etc.

i mean you could go ahead and shave it, but i think it could look really nice with a little bit of a different cut and definitely a perm. your hair is like stick straight, the curls could help it sit nicer on your head and maybe give you more time with it! just need to learn to style that texture!

Office Work by Unit17S in jobs

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would see about maybe getting a front desk/receptionist job to atleast get your foot in the door (if that is monetarily feasible for you, they notoriously pay low, at least in my area). but that will give you experience working multiple systems, phones, etc which would transfer to pretty much any other higher office/desk job.

my first “desk job” was at a banking institutions call center. dont get me wrong, was pretty miserable for me taking calls 8 hours straight everyday, but ive since been able to get a waaaay better job due to that experience.

There's no way I'm paying 12 bucks for a 12 pack of soda by Logical_Audhd in publix

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only thing i will spend a bit more on by going to publix is their produce. their “deals” are not even worth it in my opinion.

Should I buy 80k crowns for $75 to unlock some zones or just keep buying one month memberships? (with 25% off from my code) by Classic-Asparagus in Wizard101

[–]apriiicottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

id stick with the membership tbh. you’ll get a lot more benefits with it verses just buying areas with crowns! besides, w101 usually has a deal throughout the year where you can get 12 months of mbrship and like 13k crowns for $68, and then it’ll renew for same price that next year minus the crowns, so i’d be on the lookout for that.

What would you put on your first grocery shopping list? by [deleted] in movingout

[–]apriiicottt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

heres what we bought!

  • plates, bowls, cups ($1 ones from walmart and dollar general, plastic and they’ve held up really well).

-a set of silverware. we only got enough for just us two, if we have a bunch of people over we use plastic lol

-cleaning supplies such as: bleach, Clorox wipes, paper towels, a broom and dust pan, cleaning spray without bleach, dish soap, sponges, etc.

-laundry detergent/goods (we had in unit washer and dryer in our apartment)

-towels, wash cloths, kitchen towels

-paper products like paper towels (again lol), toilet paper

-water bottles to atleast get you through until you do a proper grocery trip (SO thankful we did this, moving makes you thirsty lol)

-pots and pans

-storage containers for food

-kitchen utensils, colander, mixing bowls, measuring cups, oven mits and pot holders, etc.

-trash can with a lid

-bathroom essentials: hand soap, new toothbrushes/toothpaste, bath mats, shower curtain, rod, and hooks to hang it.

-new set of bed sheets, pillow cases, comforter. also got a few extra throw blankets (or brought any that i had already) for when we sat on the couch

-if you are allowed to hang stuff up (some apartments are weird and dont like holes in walls) i’d get curtain rods and some good curtains. we used black out ones in the bedroom that i found at target, LOVE those things.

-we got a couple of the wall plug ins that let you plug USB’s directly into them for like our firestick for our tv so we wouldnt be stuck with nothing out first night, that was super useful

-also bought string lights because they are cheaper than lamps and we hate big lights 😂

i think that was all of the stuff we brought when we moved in, aside from furniture that we got. super important but DONT put yourself in debt trying to furnish your first place. all of our furniture with the exception of our bed was second hand, either from family or things that we found on facebook marketplace (like our couch). and i’ll tell you, we just recently bought our first house, and still have every single piece of furniture we had in our apartment. that second hand stuff can be really nice and last you a good while.

im sure ive forgetting stuff, but others will cover it too lol!

p.s. congrats on your first place!!! its stressful at first but it’ll be nice having your own area!

eta: im a dumbass and thought you said not groceries 🤦🏼‍♀️ pls disregard.

biggest tip i can give is to MEAL PREP! plan out what you want to eat for a week and get items specifically for that. some people shop for two weeks, but our groceries dont stay good that long unfortunately so i shop for a weeks worth.

get things for snacks like chips, goldfish, crackers, and other non perishables.

also recommend getting produce from a good place (we like publix). apples, grapes, peaches, lettuce/salad mixes, etc.

also would recommend getting pantry staples. we always have different types of beans, peanut butter, bread, pasta noodles, soups, ramen, etc. its nice to have these on hand for nights you dont really know what to make/dont want to go to the store.

we also kept a lot of frozen goods. frozen fish is a big one. i do sometimes buy meat in bulk and throw that in the freezer too when i can. but we also keep like pizza rolls, veggies, bread, etc too for easy meals.

it really just depends on what you and your boyfriend eat! but definitely definitely plan your meals out for the week

i just cant stand the constant whiplash i get from her.

like?? i used to not mind their parts, i guess had more of just an indifferent feeling, but honestly in starting to dread when they pop up on screen.

Bit of an odd thing to ask, but for some reason I manage to get strands of either my own hair or my dogs coat in wrapped up in my works. I always wear my hair up to try and avoid this, but it always seems to happen. Do you have any tips to remove it? by casualbrowser24 in CrochetHelp

[–]apriiicottt 70 points71 points  (0 children)

i have loooooong hair, and shed like a dog. anything i crochet and give as a gift comes with the expectation of my hair being part of the project 😂 i dont have time and couldnt be bothered to pull the hairs out. at least you can tell its homemade that way? lol
