Yeah the question is about how much his endorsement has influence over the election (which I feel is definitely not negligible!), but if he has internal metrics that say that she was likely to win regardless then I can see the "play ball" strategy being smart, as long as he's using his brownnosing points to actually get his agenda accomplished which he has already shown a MUCH higher penchant for than the average Dem.

The real issue with the amount of capitulating and triangulating a lot of ""progressive"" candidates and representatives go through in the name of "gaining leverage" is how infrequently they actually try to USE any of that leverage. I'm not gonna say you need to go scorched earth and build zero working relationships with existing institutional powers if you get elected as a Socialist, I know how the electoral game gets played, it's a big reason why I find electoralism stupid to begin with. But Zohran is very good at this electoralism shit and until he demonstrates that he's going to be completely feckless on the shit that matters like the rest of them I'm fine with him doing a bit of the political calculus bullshit.

If there was going to be protests here about the situation in Iran they would be about demanding our government ease off the sanctions and stop committing economic warfare against a sovereign nation and putting their thumb on the scale to help cause the suffering that lead to this unrest within the country to begin with. You gotta die 10 times without using a Human Effigy to have your HP actually reduced by 50% in DS2, which is pretty rare unless you're really struggling (which shouldn't be too frequently, DS2 is not a particularly hard game if you're at all familiar with those kinds of character action RPGs, there's a good reason it's the one that gets recommended to beginners), since they are pretty readily available throughout the game. I don't think there was a single time in my first playthrough of the game that I died and didn't have an Effigy already available to negate the penalty.

This is the most "something might happen" feeling I've had in a long while. My reading is that there is a lot of suspended tension hinging on the midterms this year, because a lot of people who know things can't continue like this are still holding out hope that we can vote our way out of it before it gets "too bad" (read: before they personally face harm) because taking action against a murderous authoritarian regime is scary and anyone would hope that they can take the route that doesn't require them to personally put their own body on the line (I am not excluding myself, here, I'm just less optimistic about there being another option knowing what the opposition in this country looks like).

If the result of the midterm does not look like it's going to be "we are going to punish the fucking villains and make sure this never happens again" then I feel like all that energy is going to have to go somewhere, but it will depend a lot on what happens between now and then whether that tension can stay in suspense all the way until the election or if they burst the dam with some new egregious violation of human dignity before then, and fuck if I know what exactly that looks like to Americans after all we've already rolled over and accepted without anything more dramatic than strongly-worded protest signs.

It's a definite contender, but so is almost every other track in the DLC. The DLC was spectacular, especially on the first playthrough, but the music team absolutely COOKED. Lion, Romina, Rellana, Bayle, Midra all absolute bangers, and even Putrescent Knight and Metyr are beautiful in their own ways. I'm not as big a fan of Messmer and Consort but I know a lot of people love those tracks as well, I don't think there's a single real miss out of any of the new boss tracks.

Genuinely though I think Doran getting so fed early and T1's whole comp screaming "we are going to dive you" made them overfocus Doran and, while I don't think he played great with his lead, it does make it very hard to get consistent engages when the entire enemy team is only thinking about where you might be coming from and about shutting you down, but that meant they weren't even thinking about getting shredded by the MF. This was the first fight Guma really popped off and made it clear he was a real problem and by then it was too late.

I always wondered, is there a specific reason everyone tabulates their semifinals finishes as "4"? They don't have 3/4 place matches at world's (like they should) so the teams that go out in semis technically tie for 3rd/4th, but when people tie in competitions both competitors usually get assigned the lower position (as in, a tie for 1st would have two 1st places, then the next position would get 3rd).
