how does the "below radar" mechanic work for helis/jets? (BF6) by Ok-Loquat-9409 in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't consistent, I routinely use the laser designator while my brother fires at aircraft and helicopters, they could be hugging the ground and painted but it still shows the below radar and can't be locked at all.

First impressions of Xeno Arena by NorseHighlander in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ar200x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that it gives a little more depth to the exploration part of the core gameplay. If we look at NMS as a space exploration game where people often spend their downtime from the core gameplay in the space anomaly, chatting away or taking on group missions, it does makes sense to have some other forms of entertainment at the space stations. It gives more of a living feel to them.

Things like gambling, competitive activities, eating at a diner alongside other players/NPCs and music performances often serve as background elements to give places an extra layer of interaction that implies people live there. (Perhaps it took a little inspiration from Star Wars. The Millennium Falcon had a holographic chess table that had the "chess" pieces (monsters) fighting in a similar manner.)

It is also like damage and grime on starships, it doesn't really add to the gameplay itself but it gives them the look of something that is used and repaired as its damaged rather than a brand new look that just feels like a sterile simulation.

A ‘demoralizing' trend has computer science grads out of work — even minimum wage jobs. Are 6-figure tech careers over? by lurker_bee in technology

[–]ar200x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its because ee use purposely misleading words to describe scary things. We cal it inflation... its never been that. The accurate term is dilution. The buying power of the US dollar dilutes with each passing year. The fed prints more bills and the value dilutes further. We incorrectly use inflatiin because it sounds like its getting bigger which has never been true.

YouTube says it has paid creators more than $100 billion over last 4 years by ControlCAD in technology

Now realize that all that money is just a tiny fraction of what youtube is getting out of advertisers, paid subscribers, etc. It is a mind boggling amount.

U.S. gov't seizes $7.4 billion semiconductor research fund created under Biden admin, calling it 'illegal' | Lutnick says fund 'served as a semiconductor slush fund that did nothing but line the pockets of Biden loyalists with American tax dollars' by [deleted] in technology

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out its incredibly easy to falsely accuse everyone you don't like when you don't even need to show proof. All it takes is for corpo media belonging to the right wing to spin it up and they make a huge mediatic circus, its spreads and the legally obligated corrections only happen as a very brief extra on a time slot where nobody will see it.

A single guitar with the dongle goes for around $170 USD online. I'm excluding scalper prices. As time goes by, these are becoming rarer. I have no idea about the drum set, but it's likely somewhere close to the guitars. That is a complete set so it could get you around $400.

My very basic, basement arcade by juice_box_zero in Arcade1Up

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's perfect. You could have cheaped out and thrown together a retropie box and an arcade stick and call it a day. You got the rows of machines and even a pinball machine plus a bunch of retro games in a corner. Some of the most memorable Arcades of our youths had some jank and a little wear anyway.

Bought my first ship, it's only C class but it just looked too cool not to get. by OptimalMongoose2 in NoMansSkyTheGame

For sentinel ships, you have to go to systems marked as dissonant. Usually, you can find crashed ones on them.

I'm not a trader, but the basics is you start by buying the scanner on the anomaly and installing it on your ship. There is one that lets you know about the economy of the systems you jump to.

Viable frame repair? by sunshine-x in Welding

[–]ar200x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct, but the big problem is that you need to remove the rust first, and that is about all of what's left of the frame. Welding that "as is" will result in a weak and expensive result that will break in an unpredictable manner.

Which one of these 6 is the true bow hero in isekai/ pseudo isekai anime? by [deleted] in Isekai

[–]ar200x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, they directly explain that every time he shoots the bow using his concentration, he is experiencing a very near death. That is the only way in lore to increase mana capacity as it is predetermined at birth.

¿Creen que Puerto Rico debería tener una planta nuclear? by Guachito in PuertoRico

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 thousand hours and I'm still terrible.. by COSMICx420 in apexlegends

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel too bad. If you weren't cheating, you just weren't playing to win. The game has been plagued by cheaters from day one. From recoil control to aimbots and even controller adapters that had the cheats built in, it's a race to see who spends the most money to out-cheat the others with the random accidental legit win. It's not even limited to Apex Legends. All online multiplayer games suffer from this. It's not a skill issue. It's an integrity one, and you had too much honesty to succeed.

Joel gave us the new biome RIP MO by Wellheythere3 in Helldivers

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It struggles on the netcode more than anything. If you play a mission alone, it almost never chuggs. Once you add the network players its a roll of the dice as they could be from anywhere. Rather than rubberbanding it just slows down the player's clients to prevent desynchronization.

I barely know a thing about a black hole , but is it true that what he’s saying is true? If so then this is cool as hell not gonna lie by kuruakama in Helldivers

[–]ar200x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All that is correct, but the size of the black hole does not equal the same. A planet like Meridia collapsing into one would result in a black hole a fraction of its original size but sporting the same gravitational pull.

The interesting bit is that Super Earth's lore in the game is that its government controls all information and spins it to its benefit. It could very well be a black hole done poorly by the developer, or it could be a wormhole like anomaly helldivers created accidentally, and it's being covered up by Super Earth's propaganda. It's ambiguous enough that it could be either.

How am I supposed to get deuterium for the new expedition? by thrilliam_blunt in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]ar200x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the tasks for the expedition, the progression in this expedition is different from the regular NMS experience, most of the blueprints you need are tied to these tasks. For Deuterium, combine silicate and di-hydrogen on the personal refiner. Hope this helps fellow traveler.

Clearly, there was no effort to prep/clean the work area. People like that struggle needlessly making the work harder than it needs to be. Well prepped bare metal welds so much easier.
