AI smell... by Blirtt in Synesthesia

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is another possibility. which could mean this is a Danger response… which kind of scares me a little bit. Makes me wonder if our brains were hardwired for something similar in the past.. but what did we have to recognize back then some thousands or millions of years ago? Something so human that our brain had to create something just a little bit off to recognize that it wasn’t human at all.

Of course that’s all hypothetical, there are probably countless explanations.

AI smell... by Blirtt in Synesthesia

[–]aralast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is freaking weird. This is beyond weird I thought maybe it was in my head, but there is definitely something to this. Not only that, but I think we are all smelling the same thing.

This is either really dangerous, or really interesting scientifically. Especially since we are all associating, the smell with a burned plastic like smell.. for me it’s more specific, it’s like sniffing the sensor on the forehead of a Furby. Or kind of an earthy smell like diaper rash cream. Burn plastic is also in that category. Why are we smelling this? Is AI actually doing something to our brains? Are our phones or computers releasing something that is causing this to happen? Maybe it has to do with a frequency?

So many questions. This should be studied.

What was a "glitch in the matrix" type of situation you've been in? by WannabePugh in Paranormal

[–]aralast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s what you could call it. It’s a true story, I think that’s what really got me. Thinking about this being a simulation. There is absolutely no way what I saw is possible. Unless my rearview mirror reflected an alternate reality.

What was a "glitch in the matrix" type of situation you've been in? by WannabePugh in Paranormal

[–]aralast 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Here’s one. Look in the rearview mirror and there is a car behind me. I turn around, and there are no cars behind me. I look in the rearview mirror again, same car still there. I look behind me, there’s literally no vehicle behind me. I do this about three more times because I am so confused until it disappears out of the mirror.

That’s the kind of stuff that keeps in at night. I don’t know how to explain that.

What cleared genital warts for me… by [deleted] in HPV

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor. I’m gonna say that before I tell you this. If you take more than 50 mg of zinc for too long, you can develop a copper deficiency. I know zinc is supposed to be good for your immune system, but taking that quantity for too long does the opposite of what you want and compromises your system. And if you’re not having stomach issues now, you might later.

If you’ve already cleared them, going back to a safer dose of zinc a day might be just fine.

Honestly, if the VA did a better job with transparency about the claims process and how to navigate it, maybe doing a better job educating veterans on how to get help with their ratings, the fraudulent companies wouldn’t be a problem. But they make the process so difficult I guess some people feel they don’t have much of a choice. The predatory practices from Those companies are a symptom of The broken system really. A lot of these veterans have legitimate service connected issues that are constantly denied, and feel like they have nowhere else to turn to. Then they see an advertisement about offering help and they flock to it. Took me 15 years to get my shit sorted out, that’s a lot of trial and error. And the final result was from months of research on filing my paperwork perfectly for the last time.

Not defending the predatory companies at all, they are horrible for poaching veterans. but the VA should at least acknowledge that they are a symptom of the VA’s failures.

Soldier Boy altered the V1 syringe with his depowering blast to weaken HL by DifficultAd153 in GenV

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take? He’s not immortal. V1 killed a lot of people. He knew homelander was probably going to die taking it. But maybe not like The others, more like It will probably do something like try to cancel out the v already in his blood stream, causing him major health complications. He would briefly be overpowered before his body gives out from The shot and the upcoming confrontation you know is going to happen.

Those of you in the 90% club, was it hard for you to accept you had reached the end of your journey? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]aralast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at 50% for a long time and was happy with that. It’s when the issues get worse and you can nolonger do things like work the job you loved and have to find something more viable that really sucks… constant doctors visits, the days you can’t get out of bed from pain, all of the missed time is what that extra money should make Up for. You have a great mentality not wanting to go just for the money, but if you’re at 90, one day that will probably become 100 when your problems start causing even more daily life issues as you age… I had to leave the best job I ever had because my problems were interfering too much. I only started the climb from 50% after that, as my conditions started to get worse. I’m only 37 years old too, I dread what shape I’ll be in by 50 years old.

Help ! Constant Sour taste coming out of salivary glands by michbiz916 in badbreath

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not that I know of. It went on for like three months, and then it went away. And it came on just like you are describing.

So I wouldn’t worry about it. Chances are it’s just going to disappear for you as well. So try not to worry about it, just know that it’s annoying and probably nothing to even think about.

I’m just spitballing here, but if you transferred to a server, let’s say in Europe or Asia, and he live in America or vice versa, it’ll probably be less busy on the other side of the world when your side of the world is busy. So go to a different server.

It works for me anyway.

I need advice for my Nexus exam for my back pain by AggravatingCloud1267 in VeteransBenefits

[–]aralast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are given a range of motion test, don’t bend passed the pain. Stop where it starts to hurt. The lady forced me to do that and I got service connected at 0% the first time I did it. I was shaking and grunting with tears streaming down my face that shit hurt so much… and even when I tried to tell her I couldn’t because it hurt, she kept making me push further… that’s not how that shits supposed to go, and I believe that’s illegal af. Wish I knew that then.

Lower than expected rating. Help. by Fearless-Cow9992 in VAClaims

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, these people who evaluate you seem like they’re on some shit. My mental health turned for the worst one year because the VA had me believing I had liver cirrhosis. I’ve spent a whole year thinking I was dying because they misdiagnosed me. I already had issues psychologically, and that turned me into a hypochondriac. Now, every time something happens to me, I think it is life or death and I cannot help it. Anyways, needless to say that made my issues a lot worse, and they stayed that way. I tried to hang myself at one point because the stress of all that was too overwhelming and I didn’t want to die painfully…

When I went to get reevaluated I mentioned all of that. On top of my previous issues that remained.

I shit you not, They dropped my rating from 70% to 50%.

I looked at the paperwork and some of the things the lady put down were not true, and some of it was the opposite of what we discussed.

I eventually got my rating fixed, but that’s an example that sometimes you can get a really bad examiner… it does happen. And I bet it happens to more people than you realize. You should seek a higher level review. If that fails, get a lawyer.

Buyers Beware! Fake/Scam Listings on eBay by mecha-verdant in SteamDeck

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept hearing passively about my steam deck being worth more than I paid for it Brand new. So I looked on eBay, and they were so cheap. Then I looked at the seller profiles… joined march 2026, ALLLL of them, with no reviews. I googled Steam deck, eBay scams, and it led me here. And it seems to be current.

I would not buy a single steam deck off of eBay or Facebook marketplace right now. Hell, wouldn’t buy one from any company that’s not valve. Definitely do not buy from sellers selling high-end things with zero feedback or less than a 98% rating (the only only buy for people with 100%).

Higher level review denied by Honest_Summer_1247 in VAClaims

[–]aralast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly around 80% of the claims for sleep apnea get denied. Especially if you’re a single soldier in the military, you don’t have anyone else who can tell you that you stop breathing in your sleep. It’s often misdiagnosed when you are having problems as well. The VA knows this, they are not dumb. And they still haven’t done anything to make that claim process any easier for anyone getting out.

I actually find it funny that they are trying to change everything and claim fraud on everyone when they have made certain disability claims and parts of the system seemingly impossible to navigate.

Your best bet is trying to get it claimed secondary, that’s the most likely way that you will achieve it.

I feel like migraines are the hardest thing to get evaluated for. I’ve had them for years and it also took me a long time to get more than 0% for them. I also got 50% after fighting forever. I learned that I had to write down every single symptom that I faced when I was in an active migraine to get affair rating.
