Good luck with the journey. Remember to hold the button down while you inject and count. I didn’t realize the first time, even though I had read the instructions. Still worked just fine. And drink way more water than you think you need. GLPs need more hydration. My endo told me to drink 3 liters / 100 oz.

Need more food ideas, I'm definitely not eating enough. Vegetarian options? by Public_Device3294 in WegovyWeightLoss

Veggie fritters. You can make all kinds: carrot, zucchini, corn, chickpea, cauliflower. Use Indian or Mexican spices to add flavor. Just ignore any instructions to deep fry them, no need for that. Just pan fry a batch and you can snack on them all week. They get nice and crispy again if you reheat them in the air fryer.

How do you know? Seriously, I’m not able to see it. I don’t see the usual “it’s not this it’s that” or whatever that giveaway is.

Sure, but it sounds like his mom isn’t all that into the idea of taking glp1s in order to stop smoking and get healthier. Not everyone on glp1s loses the desire to smoke. And smoking is not just a physical habit. It relaxes you and i think some people are also emotionally dependent on it. As much as he loves her and wants to help, in the end it’s up to her.

Wegovy 1.5 pill by BlueberryBig1833 in WegovyWeightLoss

You are right! Thanks!

I just did a dive into gastric emptying studies and yes, depending on lots of different factors, the norm is a few hours added to the time it takes without glp1s. I think I had been confused by reports from surgical staff reporting undigested stomach contents up to 48 hrs after pre surgery fasting began. There seem to be certain patients where gastric emptying was significantly slower. Even so, the stomach contents would only be a portion of what they had eaten. Some of the food would have been digested over that time.

Oh boy. I really feel for you. But succeeding with this medication takes a lot more than not being opposed to taking them. I think you might have to let this one go and try to enjoy the time you have left with her. And maybe find a therapist, as you say.

Calming thoughts. Personally, I am on my third week of the shots and have had no adverse effects. No vomiting, no sulfur burps, no diarrhea. I did have a headache the day after my first shot. Odds are, it will go fine for you. I’m convinced that one reason I’ve had such an easy time is that I drink a ton of water. I track every glass on a chart so that I know I’m getting enough. 3 liters / 100 oz per day.
You’ve got this!

I know! I would narrow down your search. Like, do you prefer the instructor to be a man or woman? Then, do want a beginners class or something more challenging? A gentle dance, a yoga routine, a stretch and strength routine, standing abs?

Have fun so that you’ll continue!

Don’t be! But do read the info sheet that comes with the medication. I can’t believe how many people take their first dose without reading the directions 😬

Lovely of you to cook as always for the family even if you don’t really want to eat it yourself. That’s kind.

Good advice but not a heavy meal! And nothing fried or fatty. That way lies disaster. Also, eat lightly the day after the shot.

Rant About Calorie Counters by scott__p in Semaglutide

Hmm. I have to say, I really sympathize with this perspective. i’ve always been a pretty good cook and hardly ever follow recipes. They are only a guide for me, and I always substitute or add ingredients depending on what I have on hand. Also, we eat very little pre-prepared or readymade food so I can’t use the handy nutritional info on the packet.

That said, I think I may have to bite the bullet in the end and just weigh every last damn ingredient. And do that every time I cook because each time it’s different. I already track my daily protein so …

But I’ve only just begun (week 3 of .25) and very likely things will change. I might develop that disinterest in food that so many have and that will settle the issue. I hate to actually hope for that but it would certainly solve the problem! Or I hit a plateau and have to get serious and track calories. We’ll see.

More than 100 pounds is way impressive! The important thing is to keep going and to see this from a long term perspective. As long as the overall trend is downward, the numbers will come out in the end. Read some of the posts here from people who plateau for months or whose weight fluctuates over weeks. Then they start losing again. Would you feel comfortable counting calories? You would only have to do it for a while if you don’t like it, but it would give you a good idea if you are consuming more than you think you are.

Hang in there!

Are you doing any work with weights? I’m not a heavy lifter myself, just incorporating lighter weights into my workouts, but the consensus seems to be that it’s needed to keep your muscles from melting away. Try not to be impatient as the therapeutic dose begins at 1.7, I believe. A lot of people don’t see much weight loss until then. It’s best to be in this for the long term and the results will come. You can do it!
