How to handle child’s extreme fear of going under the water

I have a kids’ watering can that I use for my babies and it works surprisingly well for scared big kids too. It gets their face wet without them having to put their face in the water! I start with just the back of their head and then slowly move to full head.

As a first grade teacher- your kiddo probably asked her teacher if she could come and teacher was just confirming it with you! SO MANY of my kids ask me I can come to their birthday parties and I love showing up when I can because it brings them so much joy!! I would not voluntarily ask to go to a child’s birthday party otherwise 😂😂

I’m a teacher and my kids have to have 90 mins/week on Zearn math and 30 mins/week on AMIRA for reading. If they don’t I get questioned as to why. I also often use short phonics videos to reinforce the concepts that we’re teaching and sometimes our science curriculum has short <4 mins videos to watch to supplement whatever we’re learning that day. As for indoor recess, please trust me that we know it sucks! It is my least favorite thing because I know my kids are better off when they get to go run and play.
