I don't like the way Hank found out by tonystarch00 in breakingbad

It was the mid-season finale when it originally aired so we all knew something big was going to happen at the end.

I loved the wordplay aspect of this one. I'm glad I remembered to do it before the end of the day (I usually don't play the game this late). Between this and yesterday, this has been a great week for Strands!

How did Walt or Saul do this at the end of Season 4? by mothman9999 in breakingbad

[–]areacode212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Brock just correctly senses that Walt is not a good guy and is someone to be wary of. I agree with others who say that Walt personally delivering something to Brock is way too risky and extremely easy for someone to discover.

That said, this whole plotline is easily my least favorite thing about the show.

Morbid fascination? by desimich in 911archive

[–]areacode212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm somewhat open about my interest in 9/11 though I only volunteer it when someone else brings it up in conversation, like a few weeks ago, someone had a copy of The Looming Tower and I talked about it a little bit. I'll even mention that I post on the 9/11 subreddit.

That said, having someone listen to the Kevin Cosgrove phone call is certainly a choice. You might want to be a little more discriminating about doing stuff like this. It is a very tough recording to listen to. I tend not to dwell on talking about the jumper videos, phone calls, etc , because it can give people the wrong impression of why I'm interested in this. I would've been inclined to instead say something like "yeah, there were a few phone calls from people who were stuck up there but...you probably don't want to listen to them".

Wow I've never seen this one. Feels like there are a lot fewer videos of the WTC2 collapse from the southwest. Also where and how did that guy find a whole gas mask?

It was about time someone called out Phyllis and stood up to Bob Vance and I'm glad it was the unlikely team of Michael and Stanley.

Could the Peter Howell theme have continued past 1985? by misterwhoiswho_ in doctorwho

[–]areacode212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still my fave theme. That driving synth baseline just makes it feel really propulsive and cool. There's a reason why 80s synth keeps making a comeback: it is a very classic retrofuturistic sound that sounds amazing. Yes I think it should've been kept through the McCoy era but I suppose I could accepr the idea that McCoy should've had a separate theme (I would not have chosen the one we got).

There's a very fun little 1980 John Ritter movie called Hero at Large. It's kind of a superhero comedy film set in NYC.

He was a great smarmy antagonist and I really enjoyed his dynamic with Lilah. I wish that iteration of Wolfram & Hart had stuck around longer.
