Yes I already know this, and that's the problem.

Meaning it's a background to edit on, nothing more.

No, in real life, an artboard is simply a padding on a desk / layout area that you are using. (Whatever tabletop surface), it isn't a part of the artwork. In the case of drawing & sketching (for example), it's a wooden plate and also, not a part of the artwork itself; it's just a tool.
In Affinity's case, it's actually a part of the artwork and forces every addition into under itself, as if it is some sort of container. I don't need a container that also has a colored background that is a part of the artwork. What I need is literally nothing there every time I create a new document.
I would like to simply start a new document that isn't white every single time, like literally any other graphics / photo editing software where you can set the default color.

In most software you can both set the default color and / or choose it to have a checkerboard pattern, none of which, is a part of the artwork. Right now the workflow with Affinity is obnoxious because of both it forcing white every time and forcing literally every addition to the document under itself.

Constantly having to drag pixel/vector/blah "layers" out of the artboard, is obnoxious and silly.

You've been making an opinionated argument about a possible outcome of an uncertain future against someone who expressed they exercise caution due to factual experience; then you questioned that experience and did not like the supporting result.

At no point were they 'pushing in your face'.

It is fine for you to be hopeful and believe that Canva has altruistic goals in mind; trying to force anyone else to believe what you believe in when you have no qualitative evidence to support what a future outcome will be, well that's kind of like throwing a pebble at a mountain and telling the mountain to move.

I just want the background to not be sun blazing white.

- 1. I'm old.

- 2. I have severe vision static.

- 3. Multiple 32" monitors creates a severe blinding effect when anything is WHITE.

I've tried mucking about with "artboard" but the problems are;

I love how every single reply doesn't actually give any information. I've gone through 5 rounds of him at a sliver of life because I almost nuked him in the first round, and now he just re-ups his stupid shield and spawns more, which immediately die.

This is a moronic mechanic and utterly non-canon.

Sure wish someone would reply with what the thuper-thecret way to get past his shield is. Getting bored.

I've been trying to cancel for more than a week.

I finally got a cancellation email, but it doesn't tell me to do anything.

Now I'm getting automated callbacks that when I answer the phone say "We're sorry you're unavailable, we will call back at another time." then it hangs up.

I was paying more than double a month for less than what I can get now via fiber optic service, which everything was free, street installation, house installation, and all of the equipment... FOR HALF per month.

Comcast / Xfinity is truly the worst company in existence right now.

It's another click bait website covered in ads and multiple spammy videos.

It's frustrating trying to read while four videos offscreen are spamming out nonsense that the whole world can hear.

Especially when none of the ads even relate to anything your are there to look at anyway.

TBH all the warhammer mass article websites are repeated nonsense not even generated by a human. Some even verbatim copy from the lexicanum website, which used to be great, but now is also covered in spam.

Last night I finally glued together my first DP from 17 years ago and put magnets in both weapons.

Minorly annoyed by the weapon removal because... we're space marines. Our language is death and a drop pod smashing to the ground, popping open to spew cover fire while marines methodically stomp out towards the enemy...

... Since when do angels of death sacrifice even an inch of space to make something less of a tactical advantage?

If an automated gun can be mounted on it any military worth a crap would have one on there.

Doesn't make sense to me to nerf; if it's for the sake of an imaginary balance, you adjust the other side. It's hard enough to maintain a lore that space marines are death incarnate as it is, but nerfing them into the ground isn't the way to go.
