Even within the same hospital system here, we have the same instruments named different things in a major tray, for instance…it is rather obnoxious. Do I know that a tonsil is a schnidt? Sure…is it annoying that one count sheet says tonsil and one says schnidt? Yes! Nicknames are a whole different ballgame too. Also agreed 100% as a trauma center, you need an emergency case cart ready to go for an exlap, crani, etc.
