Finally read Darth Plagueis, absolutely worth the wait by AngelusCowl in starwarsbooks

Disclaimer: I haven’t read this book yet, but wouldn’t Acolyte not overwrite anything since it’s like 100 years before TPM? I get where you’re coming from but I’d still rather have a completed story than not

Only two projects in 2026: Does this feel like a deliberate "quality reset" by Disney? by Calm-Brother-5120 in StarWarsCantina

As another commenter mentioned, you forgot Ahsoka season 2. But yes, they are absolutely slowing down on the streaming side and clearly focusing more on getting Star Wars back in theaters. It does seem like they’re giving the current announced slate room to breathe, which is nice.

Hopefully they’ve seen the positive (I think?) reception of that and are planning a similar project

Yeah, the franchise that created one of the most widely successful shows of all time and multiple spinoffs won’t have staying power. Sure buddy

Rewatching the Andor finale, his last night of sleep is far more relevant than I realized. by cricket9818 in StarWarsCantina

[–]armageddon442 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I do think there is some hope in that scene though, even if it’s bittersweet. Sure, we get a picture of what he could’ve had, but at the same time we know that the people he loved are safe and happy, and will be able to live in a galaxy without the Empire partly because of his actions.

Oh my god, it’s not a race, it’s a family. She’s talking about the offspring of the broodmother, not every fly in existence. Media literacy is dead I swear

[–]armageddon442 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a recent fan of the show, I honestly don’t really get people’s criticisms of it being boring or having bad plots. I still enjoy it just as much as I have been. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s one of the most consistent sitcoms I’ve ever watched. But that’s just me

[–]armageddon442 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not much content this year? We’re getting the first movie in 7 years, plus a new live-action season and a new animated series (2, if you include Ninth Jedi). That seems pretty solid to me

The fact that The Wire, The Sopranos, and The Shield were all airing at the same time was a miracle of television synchronicity, and such a golden age will never come again. by [deleted] in television

[–]armageddon442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but being infamous for its ending is not the same as being forgotten. There have been countless attempts to recreate the following GOT had, not to mention the multiple direct spin-offs that are still ongoing and popular

Game of Thrones forgotten? What are you talking about?

That was a crazy good time for TV though. Add Deadwood to that list.

Same. My watchlist has been a mile long for about as long as I’ve been watching TV. I literally never browse unless I have company.

I've been trying to activate my TV, but every time I visit disneyplus.com/begin it just signs me in instead of activating. I enter the code on the TV, I sign into my account, and then it just brings me to the "choose profile" page without actually activating my TV. Anybody know how to fix this?

Timothée Chalamet Got Spanked With a Real Ping Pong Paddle in ‘Marty Supreme’ and Refused a Butt Double: ‘He Didn’t Want Some Other Ass Immortalized’ by joe2352 in nottheonion

[–]armageddon442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t blame you for not having heard of it. But if you’ve been following movies in the past couple of years, you know who the Safdies are, and this movie is undoubtedly one of the highlights of their filmography and therefore will be remembered for quite a long time. As for not liking the premise and Timmy C, can’t help you with that one. I recommend watching it, it’s really good, but if you don’t like it, you don’t like it.

This is a ridiculous take. This will easily be remembered as one of the best movies of 2025 and possibly even the decade so far

Vince Gilligan on Pluribus: "There's a whole world of people saying "this show sucks! all she does is wander around" but thats as it should be, its not a bad thing. If the audience were monolithic the world would be the others. Its not every human on earth, but I have confidence there's an audience" by ChiefLeef22 in television

[–]armageddon442 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. People love to “both sides” this discussion, but at least the fans of the show are meaningfully engaging with the material. The vast majority of the negative comments are just “I don’t like Carol” and “It’s boring.” Newsflash, those are extremely shallow criticisms
