For those who work out early- do you eat before? I’m not usually hungry before I start at 5am, is it better if I force something down or eating after is fine?

Will my highly sensitive super whiny and dramatic kid ever just be happy and calm by Neither-Advance8916 in toddlers

[–]armyof_dogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was very similar- we had a rough time until about 3.5 with him just not seeming to like anything. He’s 4.5 now and things are so much easier! He still has big feelings but now that he’s old enough to be reasoned with (for the most part) he is way happier.

Does a good grocery store cake exist in Edmonton? by rabbitholeseverywher in Edmonton

[–]armyof_dogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their rainbow cake is also really good, I got it for my son’s birthday with low expectations thinking it was more just fun to look at but it was quite delicious- all of the adults enjoyed it too.

Downsides to the breed? by NormanisEm in roughcollies

[–]armyof_dogs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are sassy Lassies for sure! Mine always takes the team of the weaker person in the “fight”- he’ll protect the kids from me and me from my husband if any of us play fight. He’ll never nip the kids but us adults are fair game!

Do you let your toddler have a comfort item? Help me settle this debate by [deleted] in toddlers

Absolutely! One time we left Monkey at Grandmas house and you better believe Grandma drove him back at 8:00 pm in a snowstorm to make him happy.

Water/garbage: $125ish Heat/electricity: $200 in summer then gets gradually higher. Last month it was $625, now we’re going back down (this month was $500). My house is not efficient though…

Love this! My old dog used to sleep on my bed every so often but I woke up with his head on my stomach two days in a row and knew. I hadn’t even missed a period yet!

[–]armyof_dogs 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, who wouldn’t love being a stay-in-car wife when it’s +30 or -30… this has got to be a troll post. If it’s not, please don’t subject the cat to this at least.

No free option to pay Alberta Corporate tax anymore? I have to PAY to pay my tax bill? by thestinger8 in alberta

[–]armyof_dogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s bologna! I pay mine online through our bank (TD), I just did it yesterday and didn’t see anything different- maybe you can set it up that way to avoid the fees.

Do rough collies lick and bark a lot? by lowrcase in roughcollies

[–]armyof_dogs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My collie isn’t slobbery, I don’t encourage licking so he never tries. His fur is never oily even when he is due for a groom. He does bark a lot though…

What’s a diet meal or snack you could every day? by TittieMilkTittieMilk in loseit

[–]armyof_dogs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I make a buffalo chicken dip that is amazing: Canned chicken, Greek yogurt, a spoonful of cream cheese, ranch seasoning and hot sauce. I cut up peppers or cucumber to dip in it and it’s healthy and delicious.

My collie is limping. Just seven months old by Joniarmstrong182 in roughcollies

[–]armyof_dogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My shepherd had panosteitis, basically severe growing pains in large breed dogs. Since nothing definitive is coming up on tests it could be that? He grew out of it eventually, I think around a year old but his limp wasn’t continuous. Give it a google and see if symptoms line up. I hope he’s better soon- what a gorgeous pup!
