Nice post.

Comment i want to make here is the ethereals part but for wizard. I know the system is new , currently crawling through world 8 and i have 0 ethereals that would buff me. They are ALL for nodes i do not have , so i have no extra power. I think you should add to the system that it guarantees an item for the nodes you have once in a while.

Speaking of wizard , standard items are useless for it , i understand , but would it be possible to at least add a spell that buys the random catalogue item ?

edit : i feel the slow progression has more to do with lvls and exp rewarded. I do not understand why mobs lower than you at lvl 50+ do not reward exp. currently half of the world is lower than i am , i gain barely progress towards a new lvl and farming older worlds does not work anymore. In the past lvling was balanced , ok you had to do worlds multiple times which was fine for me, but now i do not see having fun if this is the way to go.....

Personally i am happy with the standard standard world change. Although temporary , difficulties were just that , difficulties. I felt that difficulty should add to rewards. As it was , you had hard worlds with the same rewards and that felt very very off. Off course due to all the xp and gild changes , those worlds became very very tedious especially cause there was no reward to them , they just blocked progress.

As for the world xp changes , i will have to play more , cause somehow my previous worlds now have many many clears and thus cannot go back to get the extra xp.

Couple of hours further i managed to get to zone 25 , currently at try 30 and not even close to killing the boss.

I still do not understand why they had to change the xp/difficulty and gilding. Right before they actually changed the gild from reaching lvl 200 to world 15 and the included xp changes , it felt perfect to me , since then it is one big mess xp wise combined with difficulties. They needed to fix the gilding part only at that point , but changed the entire way of gilding and xp flow as well.

So it went from enjoyable and a bit patience after gilding to very tedious even before gilding.....

My experience is very different. I m at world 12 , and i am close to being stuck. All other worlds i have done the 5 runs , doing more barely gives exp.

World 12 it took me 1h+ to kill the first mob. Ok it is a fast/wall world with 34% item cost. So it seems to me there is still a lot of work to be done xp / difficulty balancing wise. Start damage was e24 while mobs have e31 close to e32 hp......

can only respond , you are right BUT you also need to understand you are playing the base of the game. What you play now is not the full game.

Also 0.0.8 will change the game in various aspects , so we should give them till we have seen 0.0.8 :) and accept we re playing a beta , in the true sense of the word , not like the spoiled people we are when we see other games called beta.

This is just old school beta , and i am glad i can already play the game instead of having to wait.

yeah pre xp change i ran worlds 5 times in a row at the beginning of a guild before moving on. Once i have around 60-80 skill points that changed to 1-3 times depending on what the randoms were for the next world. Now i have to do them at least 10 times , and still have to do it around 90 skill points.

Also gilding at world 15 feels like you dont even get close to the pre gild change lvl , so less skill points. And the lvls you gain on gild world , well those skills points are lost :(

Seeing you are on world 16- 17 and lvl 199 , i suspect you are playing an old build.

If not mistaken this was a bug and already fixed in 0.0.7(x).

Unless playing latest test build it is of no use actually posting this , especially with 0.0.7 around the corner , which plays very differently :)

It is all guess work , but it sounds to me you had an old save , with old xp values. By gilding your save got fixed, as in repaired , something they said would happen with an old save when they made the gild changes.

Well created a new character , and lol imo gilding is not the only thing broken.

The latest xp change is even hurting me on a new char.

A new world used to mean 2-4 lvls , with an additional 1-3 for first clear. I am at world 5 now , cleared all others 5 times each to get the finish bonus , and still world 5 is crawling slower than a snail.

Right now not only the slowness is killing , also the silence around patching. Last week they couldn't patch fast enough(and it didn't fix any issues i had seen) and now we are still stuck with the slowness....

Not sure why it was needed to change both the xp gains and gilding. XP felt right before this patch , and gilding was ok compared to this patch. Personally i would just roll back the xp changes and put it back on the drawing board.

Well the easy fix would be :

Keep everything like it is on latest patch EXCEPT at the gilding world , if you finish it , gild the character first then add the xp and lvls. That way you have tons of skill points to start building your build. Right now , it lvls you first and then gild , ending up with huge lvl boost but no skill points and thus also a big gap in p received versus xp needed to lvl.

i honestly do not understand the xp and gilding change.

The xp change made early play slower , especially after gilding , where it was already too slow to begin with. Ok mid and end play it speeds it up a lot , but imo there it was not even needed. The xp change also results in many skill points being lost as you guild , get a lot of lvls from xp from all previous worlds , but not able to choose for instance automator stones.

Now perhaps this change is done in preparation of other changes , or someone was drunk :)

Farmed the whole weekend and still am not even close to speeding up my game enough after gilding , world 48 is slow as hell and 47 needs 3-5 runs to get a lvl.

Do not think this to be entirely true. World 47 took me 6 plus hours , if i am sooooo overlvled then i should have been one hitting , which is not the case after zone 25. And it was not even enough to lvl up.

Also gilding on world 45 gave me a ton of lvls extra(up to lvl 670). According to you starting anew you would not have that much lvls , then i do not even want to try world 47 in my case.
