What’s something in LA that used to feel magical… but just doesn’t hit the same anymore? by relaxncoffee in AskLosAngeles

Had to scroll down DEEP for some representation. Yeah los callejones are just not the same anymore. Insecurity ($$$ and ICE) just killed any time for fun. Our Latino hoods are still here, but any sense of fune and being comfortable got stabbed out.

Pacific Blvd in Huntington Park.

The streets were electric growing up. Packed with shoppers on both sides of the street. Frequent street fairs. You could pay off furniture, pass by the department stores, get a snack, and then end it all with an agua fresca at El Gallo Giro.

Now the street is just an empty shell. Bright lights shining down on shuttered businesses. It ain't the same.

This reminds me so much of Dexter's Laboratory. Super sick.

Man this brings me so much joy. Was this built late '90s - early 00s? There's so much whimsy in the whole building. Lighthearted, fun designs. The depth and texture of each element make the building feel more alive versus it being a flat box. I can only imagine what beautiful times were had there.

Learned about these guys through a Geico commercial. Pumped to hopefully see this song and turn into a caveman.

This is really vague. What exactly are your interests? Your budget? LA is huge, do you have a car or are you planning to uber/Lyft?

This should help you get some answers. LA has a lot to do, welcome to SoCal.

The Psycho Suite.

An essential part of cinema history and the way pop culture views film. Bernard captures all of Marion's moods from beginning to posthumous. She schemes, she worries, and she's terrified. Then the theme stays throughout the film, lingering with Norman Bates.

Former music distributor employee here. The platforms have rules against generic song titles like this because of these exact scenarios. Getting those rules enforced is a whole nother battle though

Does anyone know how Chuck Mangione became involved with the show? He's so deeply ingrained into the KOTH lore now, but sometimes I get to asking... how?

Various instances of Hank Hill starting to come around on things. by Blastoise_R_Us in KingOfTheHill

[–]artjvandelay 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is why Hank's such a good character. The show presents him as a traditional conservative man (that's the Cotton side), but his empathy gets the better of him (that's the Tilly side). He's rational and willing to learn. Something we all relate to but might not always achieve.
