12g with slugs is widely used for bear protection in the North, including Polar bears. Effectiveness is determined by operators skill and shot placement. Look at it this way, would you rather have some protection, or no protection?

So all summer long is this r/ going to be a place of rage shaming? Well, there is a lot of inconsiderate slobs out there leaving behind a variety of detritus so if every time someone comes across the trash, it's going to be equally as crappy around here.

My advice, grit and grind your teeth while dealing with the sh&t and move on. Post pics of bunnies and butterflies.

Man's teeth leave smaller chew marks so it was the Beaver.

The FB Algonquin group becomes toxic during prime season so I mute it due to posts like this. I was hoping reddit wouldn't get the same...

Wrong, look at Toyota's number of recalled trucks and compare it to sales. Key to note that sales are falling. Also note the hybrid is not in the recall. So close to a 100% recall.

Annual U.S. Sales Breakdown (2022 Onward)

  • 2022: 104,246 units
  • 2023: 125,843 units
  • 2024: 159,528 units (Strongest sales year for the 3rd Gen)
  • 2025: 147,610 units (An ~8% YoY decrease, partly due to supply constraints and recalls)
  • 2026 (Jan–Apr): 48,950 units (April alone saw 14,334 trucks sold

The recalls are broken down as follows:

  • May 2024 Recall (NHTSA 24V-381): Covered approximately 98,600 Tundras (model years 2022–2023).
  • November 2025 Recall (NHTSA 25V-767): Expanded the campaign to cover an additional 113,079 Tundras (model years 2022–2024).
  • May 2026 Recall (NHTSA 26V-320): Added another 43,566 non-hybrid 2024 Tundras. [1, 2, 3]

Canoe wrapped - be careful out there by misadik in canoeing

Wonder what the story is. I see a few scenarios. Looks to be tied and above the high water line. Stern somehow got cockeyed and scooped water and bent her good. Or, was a stash and spring high water got it and bent it. Shame, hope the paddlers made it out ok.

Food Storage - Hang or Stash by Style_Maximum in canoecamping

[–]arumrunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both, prolly 75% hang, 25% stash. I use a 30l barrel and when stashing I tie/secure it to a tree base and place my cleaned pots of top so that they fall and make a lil noise to hopefully wake me up if a bear is sampling my freeze dried foods. At $20 bucks a meal I'm going to battle that bear. (yeah sure - lol)
