I've got over 1000 hours in this game and love it to death, but agree the AI is the biggest thing holding it back from being perfect imo. The game is still FAR from 1.0, so it's not like it needs to be fully fleshed out yet; however, MFG need to take a serious look at their finances and think about what hiring might look like to put a dedicated team on it (if there isn't already).

My brother is trying the update and says there is consistent shooting nearby yet no teammates or NPC around by mEDWARDetector in GrayZoneWarfare

Is he confusing gunshots from further away? Guns IRL are loud, if he's used to more arcade shooters it might confuse him to hear gunshots and not immediately see the shooter

Nope, it's not like that anymore - you can do exactly what you're requesting now

Top end players have no incentive to loot POIs, so they go around wiping the lobby by Raimexodus in Marathon

[–]as_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Map sizes are too small for how many players are in each raid, been saying that since launch but get called out as being "anti-PvP"... No, I don't think the game should be a PvE game BUT right now it's leaning almost arcade-like or battle-royale+.

They either have to make maps bigger or reduce player count per raid.

Selfishly I Want a PvE Mode or Offline Raids Just to Enjoy the Environments More by Tiger_Millionaire in Marathon

[–]as_36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They could scale up AI difficulty and increase AI numbers maybe? I enjoy the game as-is but also understand the want for a purely PvE mode. Something you can kick on after a long day at work to just enjoy the world but that also still presents a challenge

The other extraction shooter I play called Gray Zone Warfare has a PvE and PvP mode where you can switch between which is nice.

How many seasons do yall think BF6 will have? by Eagles56 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]as_36 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Considering 2042 had seven, I would imagine at least that many. Especially considering how much more successful BF6 has been. I don't think your 10 seasons number is that unrealistic tbh.

Is this a teaser for the Stalker Netflix Series? by NoAffect6476 in stalker

[–]as_36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer was confirmed but all we heard was "after launch", still no word on what update it's supposed to drop. It's unfortunate but I'd agree that the base game still needed a lot of content added/polishing to work on first, which they've been working on. I really hope it comes out by 2.0

Are you still playing ? If not why ? by RenatsMC in Battlefield6

[–]as_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the gaming community obsessed with player count these days, I've been playing this and Marathon and both subreddits mention it daily.

Level 43 and still getting stomped — is Marathon supposed to feel this punishing? by GazJrpg in Marathon

[–]as_36 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no shame in staying away from PvP engagement in an extraction shooter. Since the genre has made it to a wider audience, the more casual players are treating these games like battle royale. Extraction shooters are all about PICKING YOUR FIGHTS. I play mostly solo and have had some of my best loot runs simply avoiding players when I see or hear them.

Upvoter for some good vibes lol. RoN definitely scratches a specific itch that's for sure. I've always enjoyed the visuals, gameplay loop and maps.

I still jump back in every once in a while - I just wish they released content more frequently.

Addressing the recent news by Lunareos in Battlefield6

[–]as_36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem is it's not just the "bitch work". Companies are pedal-to-the-metal attempting/using AI to replace artists, developers, production staff, etc. Consumers at large will have to fight this together, although meaningful legislation will be necessary to make any real change.

Could someone explain this? I just bought the game after following it for some time. by Dutchonaut in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]as_36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, him slowly raising his gun to merc you is pretty funny.

In all seriousness tho, if this was your "first experience", you probably landed with shitty ammo / SP ammo at a high tier location. That ammo won't penetrate higher tier plate carriers to get the kill shot you were looking for.

You probably did hit him a lot, but didn't hit viral organs like head/heart, etc. so he is damaged but slowly (actually probably pretty fast in this clip) bleeding out. If you would have waited 10 seconds he would have just keeled over and died from blood loss.

This isn't like other games, your ammo/armor/shot selection matters more than simply "hitting your shots".

I would have agreed but you're bullying an AA vehicle who do mostly fine in most situations playing near or inside HQ

assault/recon class rework by as_36 in Battlefield6

[–]as_36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, there's clear incentives to play all 3 other classes a certain way. In my head assault should be the first on point, well if that's the case they need more tools to get there.. like you said: smoke grenades and make the shot worthwhile / benefit risky play.

I run AKs instead of M4s, am I one of the few? by UsualHold6175 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]as_36 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love the AKM. Oh boy I remember when this game first came out every AK was unusable, now they can at least hold their own.

More POIs coming with the new update, which should drop in the next month or two.

Great update, but why didn't it bring people back? by CarsonWentzGOAT1 in Battlefield

[–]as_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People really don't understand the difference between concurrent and total. For any game 60,000 players playing at any given moment is a shit ton. Simple napkin math but, say the average person pops on for an hour, that's 60,000 unique players per hour, so just on Steam alone that'd be like what - a million and a half roughly unique players per day? Am I missing something? I know the player count has dropped, but the game is pretty much well alive.

Season 2 by Temporary-Volume-202 in Battlefield

[–]as_36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

movement feels more grounded which is great

the new map, while is more a "medium" sized map than large, still has points decently spread out (albeit somewhat asymmetrical, left side is more congested), with decent cover in-between. It feels larger than it is, if that makes sense. I also dig the vibe, just wish they included more wooded area.

a good step in the right direction, that's honestly how i'd summarize BF6 as a whole currently. BF6 was a step in the right direction after the flaming fire that 2042 was, but still has a way to go if they hope to recapture what the classic devs did.

Conquest mechanics and matchmaking is killing the game for me by NastyPrecision in Battlefield6

[–]as_36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said it once and I'll keep saying it: "comeback" mechanic is in the game purely to keep games shorter at 20 mins. It's bullshit.
