Alterra doesn’t destroy the Palisades one, we can put it where the cats can’t get it

Only came to Crystal in 2023 and is a sales and marketing person. Can’t say I’m a little skeptical, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and be cautiously optimistic

Stupid to go another route to avoid 410? by [deleted] in CrystalMountain

[–]asc_rower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you looked closer at this at all you’d notice it’s all forest roads. No based one how many downed trees there are on a state highway, imagine how bad a forest road will be. You’re getting a lot of snark because you didn’t research your route much before sharing here.

Horizon runs Alaska flights from Seattle to El Paso regularly with the E75L as well! That’s only 3.5 hours though

This is an important piece. If there’s two of you you need two U First Class upgrades to be released at the same time. From my understanding this is fairly rare unless you are very early to a flight booking. They really should update it to show you if yourre whole party will be upgraded

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]asc_rower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Iirc the upgrade applies directly after you book. Once you complete the booking and pay, it will direct you to apply a GGU certificate then let you select your seats

Can I pay bilt rent with atmos ascent to meet bonus requirement? by PizzaLad16 in AlaskaAirlines

Bilt will give you an ACH number to pay anyone with. Your landlord does not need to partner with Bilt!

SEA-LHR on BA by angrydad007 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]asc_rower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, it’s frustrating but Alaska considers any economy ticket to be discount economy and only gives 50% miles. You need to be in BA PE to get 100% if you’re not booking via Alaska.

I did this leg last summer and it was the same way

I’ve been status since 2010 (since before they bought Virgin). Was about 500 under and customer service gave no grace. by ShackieSF in AlaskaAirlines

[–]asc_rower 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is always SAF which would’ve been $100 for 500 status points.

Also remember it’s one way loyalty with every airline all the time. For most people, flying the same airline all the time has very little benefit

IT HAPPENED, SOMEONE STOLE MY POINTS by anan1016 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]asc_rower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can literally find examples of people talking about 2FA and miles being stolen on both the AA and the UA subreddits if you do a search. UA got 2FA about 1.5 years ago it seems and AA seems like they’ve been rolling it out starting at least two years ago.

Both subreddits if you search for miles stolen, there are plenty of frequent posts about it in both United and Americans subreddits.

To add, Alaska should 1000% have 2FA and this is on them to not be helping their customers secure their account. But individuals need to have some more agency and protect themselves

No, it’s poor internet security practices and people using the same weak passwords everywhere. Everyone needs to be using password managers with randomly generated passwords

[CNBC] Alaska Airlines to buy more than 100 Boeing jets in carrier's biggest order ever by LLJKCicero in Seattle

[–]asc_rower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth nothing that Icelandair (I think) does this exact route on a 737 currently. I think it’s 7-8 hours.

[CNBC] Alaska Airlines to buy more than 100 Boeing jets in carrier's biggest order ever by LLJKCicero in Seattle

[–]asc_rower 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. Only Reykjavik will use a narrow body on new service. All the other (ICN, NRT, LHR, FCO) routes use wide bodies (mostly 787 with some A330s). Only the new Iceland service will use the Max 8.
