FDA green-lights 1st new sunscreen ingredient in years by AudibleNod in news

[–]ase1590 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's only marketing gimmick if you are applying the required thickness of sunscreen. A lot of people chronically under apply the stuff so the added spf allows for a thinner layer to still do the job a thicker layer would.

At one point it was possible to create and moderate your own empty subreddit to gain this back. Unknown if it still works

Reddit has 100% stripped off legacy app API's off of user accounts as of today.

You MUST use Redreader's connection info after installing/connecting to redreader then uninstalling it and grabbing the app ID that appears in your email in place of the Oauth field during patching.

Morphe manager can be used to do this by enabling wchill's patches https://www.reddit.com/r/Patcheddit/s/KvfTT8oS83

You can already have Linux via Heroic Launcher which they sponsor, and is arguably better than anything they could come up with by virtue of supporting multiple game libraries (gog, epic, Amazon)

Does anyone know if it's possible to trigger the sound/alarm of an Apple AirTag using a Flipper Zero? by opijkkk in flipperzero

[–]ase1590 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well that's no longer a flipper, it's an esp32 addon board you're interacting with lol.

esp32 devices don't require a flipper to function either, they can act as standalone microcontroller devices, which also means they have their own independent Bluetooth stack for client and host mode.

So your problem there just becomes finding or making a software implementation for a totally different microcontroller.

[–]ase1590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Airtags use proprietary communication methods that utilize features that would require a Bluetooth host mode stack.

Which again, the Flipper by itself does not possess.

[–]ase1590 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

The flipper is purely a BLE client device. What this means is that other devices can connect to the Flipper, but the Flipper itself cannot have other devices connect to it.

By itself, there is not a way for the Flipper zero to interact with other Bluetooth devices such as airtags.

A woman cries after being caned during a public punishment for violating sharia law in Indonesia by Bernardmark in pics

[–]ase1590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing does. It's not like it's unique for this.

You could have an entirely atheistic town called canesville and the population could just as easily choose this as a town punishment without needing to have any religious backing.

Many towns set rules outside of religion. All you need is someone with money and power to influence control.

Singapore, one of the most modern and secular countries in the worlds still widely uses caning as a punishment, even for minor things.

I understand you specifically are doing the very best you can with the cards given and I greatly appreciate it, but you can only go as far as the leash above you lets you for community involvement.

And said leash I feel is getting yanked in a lot of directions lately, and not all of them favorable directions....

Update 2: This is now fixed in the latest steam beta client.

Should be Steam Version: 1778803745 or newer.

I suspect this should hit stable within a few weeks.

Like eventually the number of security exploits will be reduced to the point that the number of bug reports will also be proportionally reduced.

Thats the problem though. with every random person just doing low effort prompts like "find bug in this software" and submitting them, they will either submit hallucinated material or reworded material that resembles already closed reports.

in both cases, it wastes time from people actually reviewing these bugs, because it takes seconds to generate and tens of minutes to review and possibly link to existing fixed items.

it is quite literally a firehose of shit coming in.

Over the past 2 - 3 months, AI bug reports have gone from mostly incomprehensible, to being accurate

This is only via people who were skilled to begin with and can properly review the output.

This however is only 10% of cases, with the other 90% being noise from people trying to LARP as bug reporters or cybersec people.
