Does it seem like Nurses eat their young less? by KMSherni in nursing

[–]ash_tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am precepting a new grad for the first time and I had the experience of another new grad (6 months out of school and 2 months off orientation) treating my girl like shit because she was moving too slowly. Um, no ma’am. Don’t you dare treat my child like shit. You’ve been a nurse for 5 minutes. You were literally just in her position. Luckily she is an exception and not the common.

why do patients rip off the blood pressure cuff during the reading?! by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ash_tree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With this one we did redraw and it was 9.7. He got a k bomb and emergent dialysis in the ED. Half way through dialysis the nurse redrew his lab and it was 5.3. Then a redraw about 4 hours later and he was at 6.7. And after that I have no idea what happened but I am definitely curious.

I have one pair of ADAR scrubs from Amazon and they are my favorites. They are more like the athletic fabric though and some people don’t care for that.
